Does anyone else use them? If so, do you have any trouble with them in cold weather? I have trouble with the caps falling out of the gun. I'm trying to figure out if its the gun or the caps being cold and contracting. By the way love the new set up with the forum.>>>
We have 2 on one of the trucks and have been using them for 3 years, while they are not as quick as the roofing nailers the only trouble we ever had was the little plastic hose on the front of the gun cracked, bostitch sent me 3 of them for 2-3 dollars. Keep them oiled and clean the guns and it will function in the hot or cold, if its blasting through the cap on hot days use the adjuster on the front of the gun.>>>
Hey Parrot: you may be right, staples might be OK. I've just never used them, it just doesn't make any since to me. I've had customers see me use'n a gun"thinking that i was using staples" and i assured them that i was using standard 1 1/4 nail, so back again about staples i just can't see myself use'n them...sorry...>>>
Case solved, I heated the caps up today before I used them, no problems. At the risk of hijacking my own thread, Ottawa, whats wrong with putting felt on with caps and staples? I've put alot of shingles on with staples without any problems. Infact we had 50 mph winds all day yesterday, I've seen alot of shingles blown off today, but so far no trouble with any of mine. BTW, I do use nails now since warrenties wont cover staples. I think staples got a bad rap because people didnt know how to shoot them correctly.>>>
Staplers and roofing should not be said in the same sentence.>>>
i never used mine in the cold yet. i have trobule with it getting dirty and then not feeding right. it saves a lot of time drying in a roof.>>>
I dont have trouble with the connectors as long as I dont try to jerk it out real fast. In the summer I try to keep the caps out of the sun. When they get too hot I tend to shoot through them.>>>
I have no trouble with mine. The only time I ever had a problem is if I go to fast and the compressor can't keep up then it will jam.>>>
