My wife dropped her car off to get an oil change and asked to for new wiper blades. When she picked up the car, they charged her $150 for the wiper blades plus labor.>>>
When I was young and impressionable, I used to drive a Honda civic (one from 1980 that looks like an Austin Mini), until a lady sailed through a red light and demolished the car. Fortunately, by some miracle, neither I, nor my wife were badly hurt, but we were very shaken up, and looking at the wreck, saw that if the car that hit us would have hit us another foot further (on the driver's door instead of the front wheel), we would have been dead. So, we went to buy a replacement car, and in each candidate car, we paid particular attention to the size and heft of the doors. We ended up buying a Volvo 240 (really thick doors), and being a young guy, I wanted something sportier than the basic model, so we bought the turbo version, complete with the "sports" package. Drove like a tank on steroids AND nitro. We felt SAFE. Then winter comes, and I went to buy winter tires. Now at the time, the average car tire would cost $40-50. The ones for the Volvo were $200 each (sports package, remember?). The muffler died prematurely (happens when salt is the chosen road de-icer), and instead of paying maybe $80 (Mister Muffler-type), they wanted $800 (because it is a performance muffler from Volvo). And so on. Visiting the garage became a very painful experience. Even now, almost 30 years later, whenever my wife wants to remind me that I don't always think clearly, she just whispers the little word "Volvo" into my ear and causes me an involuntary twitch. So, HOP, my condolences.>>>

You've heard the story about the car salesman on the phone with a customer about a car deal.......tells the guy to bring his wife on down and they'll dicker

$150. is about right for 3 16" blades at $6.00 each, plus 4-5 minutes labor to install.>>>
Vaa - the price did not include the blade arm. Just the three blades.>>>
Patty Cakes - I actually trust my wife and the mechanic. The problem is the parts for Land Rover's are expensive.>>>
Copperman - The problem is that my wife thinks we can afford a Land Rover.>>>
If you can afford a land rover you can afford the $150 wipers >>>
It's a Land Rover.>>>
What kind of car? My son had a Mercedes, and they wanted $2200. for a minor tuneup.
My supplier bought a BMW suv for his wife. A little later the tires went bad...$900 each, only good for 20K miles :S>>>
New plug wires were $650. :( The power steering box also needs to be replaced (4th time in a year) and that is another $1200.>>>
They better come with a lifetime supply of washer fluid! lol>>>
