Shingle Recycling: Homeowners Care and So Should You with Mark Leo

February 8, 2024 @ 12:30 pm - 1:15 pm PST

Owens Corning - Mark Leo

Mark is the Director of Circular Economy within the corporate sustainability organization at Owens Corning. In this role he leads the company’s efforts to reduce waste and embed circularity solutions into its business. He also serves on the ARMA Asphalt Roofing Recycling Committee and chairs the Measurements Working Group. With more than 20 years of experience in the construction and building materials space, Mark has held roles in strategy, sales, marketing, and business management.

Reducing the environmental footprint of shingles is a priority in the roofing industry. But what do homeowners think about shingle recycling and the opportunity to divert landfill waste? What are the opportunities for contractors to address market demand, nurture their reputation in the market and reduce the environmental impact of their business?
Each year, 12 to 13 million tons of shingle waste is generated. At least 90% of that waste is sent to landfill. The Roofing industry has committed to being part of the solution – and recent data indicates that homeowners want to share in our commitment. Join Owens Corning innovation and sustainability leaders for a discussion that explores industry progress and presents new homeowner data.

Learning insights:
-What is the state of shingle recycling in 2024?
