This course is designed to expand the learner’s knowledge of building insulation systems and critical design considerations. Fire prevention, long-term thermal resistance, and building usage are among the many challenges that confront the insulation manufacturer, project designer, contractor, and end-user. The goal of proper product selection and installation is achieving healthy, energy-efficient, durable buildings. This presentation will review insulation types, applicable fire-resistance ratings, insulation capabilities, and insulation testing techniques. Building codes and industry standards that provide requirements for insulation will be reviewed. The intended audience is architects, engineers, building enclosure consultants, contractors, and building owners.
Join Tiffany Coppock, AIA, NCARB, CDT, LEED AP, ASTM, RCI, EDAC, and Aaron B. Nelson, RBEC, RRC, RWC, RRO, REWC, on Thursday, September 7, 1:00–2:30 PM ET.
After this webinar, attendees will be better able to:
Identify the basic categories and uses of commercial insulation systems.
Discuss how each insulation type can be utilized properly to help achieve energy-efficient, durable, and comfortable buildings.
Explain the process of moisture infiltration into insulation systems and the corresponding loss of thermal performance.
Describe the application of codes and standards to insulation systems and to the building industry.
