Fall Protection Competent Person Training

April 12, 2022 @ 8:00 am - April 14, 2022 @ 5:30 pm CST

Have you noticed greater demands for comprehensive fall-protection training from general contractors and building owners and in contracts? Did you know OSHA requires you to have a competent person responsible for fall protection training for all employees?

Because falls continue to be the leading cause of death in the roofing industry and top reason for OSHA to issue citations and fines, fall protection continues to be a critical issue for roofing contractors. To help you address fall-protection concerns and comply with OSHA regulations and the Army Corp. of Engineers’ EM 385 24-hour fall-protection training requirements, NRCA now offers a new, in-person training course.

NRCA’s three-day, roofing-specific Fall Protection Competent Person Training course is perfect for foremen, crew leaders, safety directors and NRCA Qualified Trainers. Participants learn the latest information about fall hazard recognition (including job hazard analysis); fall-protection system specifications and limitations; detailed inspection protocols for fall-protection equipment and roof deck integrity; self-rescue and assisted rescue from an arrested fall; effective training techniques; and more.

Those who successfully complete the course meet the critical, knowledge-based aspects of OSHA’s competent person requirements for fall-protection trainer and safety monitor, as well as satisfy the Army Corps of Engineers’ EM385 24-hour fall-protection training requirements. Each also will receive an NRCA certificate verifying he or she meets these requirements.

Make sure your key employees stay current with the latest fall-protection requirements.
