Learn which quality products this full-service commercial and residential roofing company chooses.

Working for other roofing companies, Kyle Shirley and the roofers who created Sol Vista Roofing were disillusioned by the limited quality options and services available to customers in their area. So, they banded together with the goal of providing superior roof repair solutions. They streamlined the roofing process for clarity and simplicity for their customers, while also using advanced technology tools to stay on top of the industry.

Join a conversation with Kyle to learn how his company is growing, and what role working with trusted industry partners plays in that growth.

What’s the customer base for Sol Vista Roofing?

We work across most of Colorado and southern Wyoming. Our main working areas are the I-25 corridor from Cheyenne to Colorado Springs, and along the I-70 corridor from Aurora to Vail.

What type of roofing products do you install most… and what companies do you partner with?

We’re a full-service commercial and residential roofing company. We’ve installed nearly every type of roof system, including asphalt shingles, metal, tile, TPO, EPDM, roof coatings and synthetics like DaVinci® Roofscapes. Our go-to snow retention products come from Rocky Mountain Snow Guards. Mostly Yeti snow guards, but also some Rocky Guard products. On occasion we’ll use the S-5®! on metal roofs and Drift Solar on homes with solar panels.

How often do you use the free layout and quote service from Rocky Mountain Snow Guards?

We use this service for all our synthetic and metal roofs we install, including DaVinci, F-Wave, Brava, standing-seam metal or R-panel metal. This free design and estimate service makes our estimation process more efficient for our client and also adds credibility to our proposals.

What about the Rocky Mountain Snow Guards product? What keeps you coming back to using the company’s product for your snow retention needs?

First, we get excellent service from the Rocky Mountain Snow Guards team. Each one of them always makes us feel like our project is important to them. Second, the pricing we receive is fair, and the turnaround times are quick. Finally, the quality of the product is outstanding.

What’s the most challenging roofing project you’ve done where a snow retention system was involved?

We installed more than 700 linear feet of S-5! snow rail system on a metal roofing project in Cherry Hills Village in Colorado. The metal roof was bonderized steel, which we matched in the color strip in the S-5! ColorGard system.

The complicated roof design called for a specialist to help sketch out our snow retention system. Rocky Mountain Snow Guards fulfilled this wonderfully. The result is a beautiful roof with effective snow retention in place!

What one project in Denver would you like to re-roof more than any other… and why?

For me, it would be some of the low-slope roofs at the Auraria Campus in downtown Denver. They have a distinct red-rock gravel on their roof, which is recognizable from the air. Universities like to have distinctive roofs. It would be a fun project to help the campus evolve to a more modern single-ply commercial roofing system, but retain a distinctive quality to make sure it remains recognizable.

If you were not a roofer, and had to change careers tomorrow, what would you do?

Difficult question! I’d give my kids these three options and let them choose for me. 1) train to be a stuntman in action movies; 2) train for a year to be a pro golfer (and become a caddy if that didn’t work out!); or 3) become a teacher so I could keep a closer eye on them!
