Finally! A 120v Welder that Delivers Power and Performance

Roofon welder
April 10, 2017 at 6:40 a.m.

The Roofon 120v welder far surpasses the 120v welders of the past, delivering energy-efficient, reliable seam welds.

A few years ago, a number of 120v automatic overlap welders hit the market and contractors were excited about the convenience of being able to plug into a standard 110v household outlet, eliminating the need for a generator.

That excitement turned to disappointment and frustration when contractors discovered that the standard 15-amp household outlets didn’t provide enough power to produce good welds at productive speeds. The welders were expensive to buy and not much faster than a hand weld with unreliable heat and speed. Some also proved to require greater amperage and their use ended up tripping the home or business owner’s GFCI breakers.

Due to their poor performance and unreliable welds, Hapco Inc. decided not to offer a 120v welder but to stay true to their 230v smaller, portable Roofon and Roofon Edge which were more energy efficient and reliable. Fast forward three years and contractors are still looking for a 120v welder that can get the job done.

To meet this demand Hapco, Inc. decided to test the 120v BAK Roofon and Roofon Edge welders for quality reliable seam welds on 60-mil thick single-ply membrane, the thickest membrane recommended for Roofon welds and they had great success.

BAK 120v Roofon and Roofon Edge welders are now available in both analog and digital options, to accommodate regional climate demands. The difference? Roofon and Roofon Edge require a 30-amp 125 volt outlet which is standard on smaller, portable generators for better power delivery to the welder.

BAK addresses what contractors want most: power convenience through smaller, more portable generators to keep costs down.

Visit a Hapco-BAK distributor near you, nationwide for a 120v or 230v Roofon and Roofon edge welder, covered by Hapco’s industry exclusive 3-year limited warranty. Find your local distributor here.
