OLE Willie

Hey Bubba, Lets allow this here white line to show below every shingle and we will tell the home owner they are LD shingles. Low Definition!

OK Billy Bob, sounds like a plan to me. By the way, how far apart should the shinlges be staggered?

Oh say 2 inches should cover it says Billy Bob!

I'd like to think my plumbing jobs are better than that is a roofing job.

At least I'm only screwing myself.

I think that's giving them too much credit, for the thinking that is. Too much credit for thinking because they weren't thinking. Maybe something like reacting second to second, which you could say falls into the category of proto-thinking. The fog in the early morning that is neither day nor night but probably about to lift and reveal something. A semi-conscious state where the eyes are open and the mind thinks it's fairly important to have some kind of a lap even though there is felt under everything (did I hear someone snicker Ice and Water shield?) Random is good, even with thinking. But not so good with someone else's expectations. Not unless they give you a carte blanche and they can afford to pay you to learn from scratch. It definitely doesn't get much more ignorant than this. I've approached things for the first time many times and had no more than a battered raft in an ocean of my own ignorance, but I would never keep going and going like that without realizing I needed some answers before I took one more single step. I'd read the wrapper or start to read the wrapper and even if I couldn't read, I could see the little drawings and I'd think to myself, something just ain't right. I asssure you I have absolutely no inkling of what it must be like to live in a body and mind that could care so little and go right on ploughing so deep. I saw one that was put on razor straight with perfectly driven nails, exactly as OS says, brought right to the nail line. On the money. In cases like that the best head lap is an anvil, but at least they were religious about the standards they thought they were setting. These guys get zip all they way down the line.

OLE Willie

This poor guy hired the exact same "company" that did his neighbor across the streets roof. They sent a good crew out to do that one and no problems.

However on this one they sent a different crew. Probably a new crew.

At least this homeowner understands that the entire roof needs replaced "again". But he is short of cash due to being ripped off the first time so he wants to do it in 3 sections.

Starting with the third that has 4 leaks of course. They also roofed over bad 3/8 inch weak and wavy plywood. I told him i could not do his roof without redecking the whole thing with new plywood.

I will probably never hear from him again as my price for the third ( including the new wood ) was about the same as the others charged for the whole roof job.

:woohoo:

The days when the instructions were written only in English... wish that were the case.

Time to open up a can of Whoop a**!
