Frequently Asked Questions

A supplement estimate is a tool used by contractors to show property insurance carriers that there are more extensive damages to a property than what was listed on the original claim paperwork prepared by the adjuster. It is a comprehensive estimate of repairs needed after highly qualified and reputable contractors have assessed the losses to the property.
Insurance normally requires 7 to 10 business days to review a supplement and send a revised claim. Elevation Estimating guarantees getting the supplement request to insurance within 2 days of a complete submission and will follow up on the submission multiple times weekly to expedite the process. However, when adjustors encounter a backlog due to a major storm event, the insurance review process can take 30 days at the minimum.
Any requests, including any revisions can be made through email at elevationestimatingoffice@gmail.com. Revisions requested before the completed supplement is returned will be free of charge. Any revision requests made after the return of the initial supplement estimate will be an additional $25. Rest assured, the writer’s analysis will cover most if not all needs, most if not all of the time. Most revisions requested are oddities or very specific pieces not found on the majority of projects.
Absolutely! The insurance company will not approve supplement requests without the evidence to back them up. Taking clear photos at the time of inspection as well as during the tear off and at completion are vital to getting a supplement approved.
