This session is the first step in building a dedicated, liquid roofing and waterproofing-specific 'Words and Phrases to Avoid Using' guide, tailored to our sector's own terminology and products. We need member input to shape it.
The CCPI's existing guidance is a useful general starting point, but it isn't written specifically for our sector. Different products and sectors carry their own terminology, claims and grey areas that a general list won't cover. That's the gap we're aiming to tackle with this project, and we need LRWA members who understand our sector's language to be part of the conversation.
Word choice in construction marketing has come under increasing scrutiny since the Grenfell Tower fire, with misleading product claims identified as a contributing factor. Members raised this topic directly with us, and this webinar is the starting point for developing sector-specific guidance that reflects how liquid roofing and waterproofing products should be described, sold and specified.
We're joined by the CCPI, who will set out the key principles behind their existing guidance before we move into an open discussion focused entirely on our sector.
