Metal composite material (MCM), also commonly referred to as aluminum composite material (ACM) when aluminum skins are used, offers designers a versatile cladding solution for a wide range of architectural applications. This course examines how panel components, manufacturing methods, attachment systems, and application conditions influence performance, fabrication and installation. Program content compares common barrier and rainscreen approaches, along with field-assembled and shop-fabricated systems and explores how these choices affect moisture management, constructability and design execution. Participants develop a clearer basis for evaluating and selecting MCM products and systems for different façade applications and project requirements.
