Stick, seal and set: SopraPATCH by SOPREMA

Stick, seal and set: SopraPATCH by SOPREMA
September 16, 2025 at 6:00 a.m.

By Emma Peterson.

SOPREMA continues its legacy of innovation with a fast-curing, multi-surface repair patch that’s ready for paint in just one hour.

In 1908, Charles Geisen founded SOPREMA with the goal to develop a fully waterproof fabric that would also be flexible and easy to install. The result was the industry-changing product that came to be known as “MAMMOUTH®.” Today, over a century later, that same drive for innovation has kept SOPREMA at the front of the waterproofing industry with products like the SopraPATCH!

The SopraPATCH makes repairs in the field easier than ever. SopraPATCH is a multi-purpose, self-adhesive repair patch that can be used on metal, wood, fiberglass, concrete and more. This versatile product is made out of a fiberglass-reinforced polyester that not only is waterproof but also doesn’t shrink or expand after curing. And that curing is fast, with most applications being ready for paint just one hour after installation. Further, this durable patch is non-flammable and does not need to be mixed or measured! Application takes just three easy steps:

  1. Prepare the application area: Clean your workspace well to remove debris and contaminants. Once the area of application is dry, cut the patch down to size without exposing it to UV or sunlight.
  2. Apply the patch: Peel off the white backing tape to expose the sticky resin. Place this side down on the repair area and press firmly and thoroughly to ensure a strong seal.
  3. Remove the backing: Simply remove the film backing on the patch and expose it to UV or sunlight. Depending on the amount of light it is exposed to, the patch will cure in anywhere from five minutes (sunny conditions) and 50 minutes (cloudy conditions).
