NBRCA provides valuable educational resources that help contractors maintain credentials, build expertise and grow their careers.

In many careers, it is easy to feel stuck in an office or a routine with no pathway to individual or career growth. In the roofing industry, it could not be more different. In fact, professional development is often a requirement for staying licensed and certified for work. This not only ensures that roofers are up to date on the newest technologies and products, but it also helps improve the overall quality of work our industry produces by raising the standards of craftsmanship and expertise.

Where do roofers go to this crucial education? Often local roofing associations and organisations, like the New Brunswick Roofing Contractors Association (NBRCA)! Organisations like this typically host a variety of classes, workshops and seminars that help contractors keep up with any professional development requirements and with any key industry advancements. At NBRCA, their education opportunities include:

  • Roofing Technology Maintenance and Inspection course: put on by Cindott Inc, this course is a great way to broaden one's knowledge of the roofing industry. For maintenance managers it is a great way to refresh knowledge on inspection practices and for designers it offers key information about different roofing systems and products. This week-long course includes both classroom learning and hands-on practice.
  • The Master Roofers Guarantee of New Brunswick Ltd: in conjunction with the New Brunswick Roofing Contractors, this seminar series keep attendees up to date on new technologies, products and building codes.
  • IIBEC (formerly RCI, Inc.) Courses: through a partnerships with IIBEC (International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants), NBRCA hosts IIBEC presentations on various roofing topics such as roof assembly science, waterproofing techniques and quality assurance.
  • Safety training: one of NBRCA’s foundational beliefs is that safety in the workplace is everyone’s responsibility. Subsequently, they offer a variety of safety trainings and courses, including the administration of the National Torch Safety Program in the Province of New Brunswick.

Learn more about these education opportunities on NBRCA’s website!
