USC community building receives new roof with support from West Coast Roofing and GAF

West Coast Roofing replaced the roof with a mechanically fastened single-ply roofing system, using GAF EnergyGuard Polyiso insulation and GAF EverGuard TPO.

The University of Southern California’s (USC) Hillel Foundation’s campus building recently received a new roof with support from local contractor West Coast Roofing and GAF, North America’s largest roofing manufacturer. The building's aging roof, unrepaired for over 15 years, was leaking and accumulating gravel, posing safety hazards for students using the community space.

The campus building is a center for Jewish student life, enriching students' college experience through a student-centered model of leadership in outreach, engagement and education. It serves as a safe and inclusive space where students can explore their passions and identities as young adults.

West Coast Roofing installed the new roof with a portion of materials donated by GAF. The team replaced the roof with a mechanically fastened single-ply roofing system, using GAF EnergyGuard Polyiso insulation to help promote energy efficiency and GAF EverGuard TPO that help provide long-term heat, UV and fungal resistance. New gutters were also installed, as well as a clad metal drip edge, counterflashing to help prevent water from penetrating and walk pads to protect the roof hatch ladder and all equipment access points.
