Try your hand with a new debris management tool

Equipter Debris Management Tool
April 24, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.

By Emma Peterson.

Ease your way into a new way of debris management with this simple rental program!

Investing in new technology and tools can be financially-burdensome and may also feel a bit like a gamble — there’s always a little voice in your head wondering if it might not work for your crew. This Roofing Road Trips® episode with Dave Beiler explores how Equipter has set up a rental program to help you feel secure in your investments.

Equipter’s equipment is designed for roofers and by roofers. Dave explained, “Our flagship model, the 4,000 model, is the one that my dad designed 20 years ago for his roofing business.” This model is a self-propelled, towable and liftable trailer unit that makes debris management on the job site more efficient and safer. There is nothing on the market like this, which is why there might be some hesitancy to implement it. Dave described, “Just like any innovations, sometimes there's some hesitancy and well, we are doing fine with our old way of doing stuff.”

To help contractors figure out how this unit fits into their project process, Equipter has developed a rental program. Dave elaborated, “Because of the initial investment, contractors want to get their hands on it, use it, try it before buying. The other thing is the contractor that might not use it on every single job.” By building this network of rentals, Equipter can help mitigate some of that hesitancy that comes with trying new products. And it worked! Dave reported, “I’ve seen that it takes 2, 3, 4 weeks for a crew. Just like any innovation, it takes time to change and adapt to understand how this will benefit us. And we found that guys that use it and implement it never want to go back to the old way.”
