Three days of roofing excellence this May

The CRCA’s 65th National Conference offers sessions, socials, tours and more for industry professionals nationwide. 

Every two years, the Canadian Roofing Contractors Association (CRCA) hosts a General Meeting and National Conference. This is a national event that “brings together roofing industry professionals from across Canada — an ideal setting to network, share knowledge and celebrate innovation within our community.” With education sessions to attend, inspiring speakers to listen to and an energizing expo to explore, you will want to head to Québec City, Québec May 28-30, 2026, for this event.  

Hotel and travel 

This year’s conference will be hosted in the heart of Old Québec at the Hilton Québec. With breathtaking views of the St. Lawrence River and amenities like a swimming pool, spa and fitness center, this hotel promises to be a convenient backdrop to the 65th annual CRCA conference, and AGM! Special room rates for attendees of the show start at $299.00 per night and there is on-site parking available for a fee.

Three days of conference programming 

This year's show kicks off on May 28 at 11:00 a.m. with badge pickup at registration. From there, you will be jumping into three days of programming and learning! Here are some of the highlights for each day of the show:  

Thursday, May 28 

The afternoon begins with an opportunity for everyone to discover Old Québec City. You can do so by selecting a walking, electric bike, or scooter guided tour. The Quebec Master Roofers Assocaiton ( Association des Maîtres Couvreurs du Québec) will be hosting a welcome reception on the first night of the show from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  

Friday, May 29 

Day two is when the conference gets into full swing! The morning business sessions starts with opening remarks at 8:30 a.m. and then transitions into talks from industry leaders like Rodrigue Gilbert (Canadian Construction Association), Mauricio Chavez (National Research Council of Canada) and Alexandre Champoux (Civalgo).  

And if you’re attending the event with a spouse/partner, this day will close with a fantastic activity for both of you! The President’s Reception will be held from 6-7 p.m. and is followed by the President's Gala Dinner & Awards.  

Saturday, May 30 

The closing day of the conference will see the CRCA general meeting and the keynote (delivered by Dany Dubé, hockey analyst and broadcaster) in the morning. There will also be a talk from Jean‑François Côté of Soprema, before the show winds to an end with closing remarks delivered at 12 p.m.

Additional activities 

If that schedule wasn’t busy enough for you, there are fun activities and events scattered throughout the show that are included with your conference registration! These events include:  

• Guided tour: Included in delegate and partner registration, there are three different guided tours running on May 28! Whether you choose to walk, are upper/lower town of old Québec, to scooter through the “vibrant neighborhoods of Saint-Roch, Limoilou, and Saint-Sauveur,” or to bike by stunning architecture and iconic landscapes, you are sure to have an afternoon of learning and fun.  
• Food and drink: Interested in the food scene of Québéc? On Friday, May 29, partners will take part in a food and drink walking tour! Kicking off at 11 a.m., This three-hour event will take you to 5+ local food stops and includes a “a glass of local wine (2 oz) for adults and Québecois gin selected to pair perfectly with the food.” Please note, as this is a walking tour, walking shoes are recommended. This is also a great event to attend with your spouse/partner. 
• Knitting animation: And on the last day of the conference, May 30, you, and your spouse/partner, are invited to participate in a hand knitting activity at the hotel! Running from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., attendees will learn how to craft a “beautiful chunky scarf while learning the craft of hand knitting.”
