The power of automation in the sales process

Leap Power of automation
May 5, 2024 at 12:00 p.m.

By Emma Peterson.

Learn how automated property data makes your sales process more efficient and effective.

When Heidi J. Ellsworth was at the 2023 Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Association (FRSA) expo, she hosted Rob Soper from EagleView and Tom Basch from Leap on the RCS sound stage for a live Read, Listen, Watch webinar about the power of automation in the sales process. With over 16 years of experience in the industry, Rob is a senior business development manager at EagleView, having worked there since 2017. Tom started in the roofing industry around 20 years ago as a laborer and worked his way up to his current position as channel director at Leap.

The two spoke to Heidi about a collaboration between EagleView and Leap. Rob clarified EagleView’s role, saying, “We use our proprietary software to extract the data and the measurements from the properties. Then we export that into platforms that people can leverage." One of those platforms is Leap’s sales enablement platform. Tom explained, “The beauty of having that data that EagleView provides is that a sales rep can sit in the home, and they have all this data at their fingertips within Leap.” Integrating the data in the accessible form of the Leap program allows sales reps to present data seamlessly to their clients in one appointment.

This is noteworthy because the traditional system of making a sale is much more inefficient. Tom explained, “I would go out for a roofing lead, I'd measure, I'd get the estimate, I'd come in and if the homeowner said, ‘Hey, could you also do the shed?’ Sure, now I got to go back out.” This process took a lot of time for contractors like Tom, but it also was very inconvenient for the homeowners. He recalls one customer saying something to the effect of, “This contractor wants two hours of my time, me and my husband. I've got two kids in sports after school. We both work full-time. I don't have two hours.”

With the EagleView and Leap collaboration, these delays are largely eliminated. Tom explained, “Within the Leap platform, you can take in that lead and discover what they want to have done. You're able to order an EagleView report seamlessly within there.” This report contains the measurements for the property and uses that data to create estimates and other information automatically and within seconds, allowing them to meet with the customer once and cover whatever concerns or questions come up.
