Insights into using digital tools to boost your sales team’s operations.  

Technology is revolutionizing every part of our world, including roofing. As John Kenney of Cotney Consulting Group puts it, “Keeping up on roofing technology] is no longer optional. It's a strategic advantage that drives better performance, reduces risk and strengthens your reputation in the marketplace.” To learn more about how contractors are keeping up with tech, we spoke to Jake Shifflett about the digital tools that support Rooster Roofing’s sales team.  

NomoHub’s Canvassing Program 

The first program Jake highlighted was NomoHub. NomoHub is a canvassing program that organizes your data. It allows users to create canvassing zones, monitor field teams and build client profiles (thanks to a CRM integration).  

Jake shared a bit about how he uses it as a support tool in his everyday activities, saying, “When I'm in the car, I'm constantly looking at just roofs. And based on my experience, I can often tell when a roof needs work. But I don't always have time to jump out and potentially get into a conversation with the owner. What I do have time for is to stop and pull NomoHub’s map up and pin it.” From there, Jake can send a team back to reach out to the owner and start that sales conversation!  

The Rapid Roof Calc 

Another tool that Jake and the Rooster Roofing team utilize is Rapid Roof Calc. This tool integrates into the Rooster Roofing website and gives visitors an estimate for how much their project will cost. Jake explained, “Traditionally, quotes have to go back and forth. You get the client info, send that to your quote guy, get it back and get back in contact with the client... with Rapid Roof Calc we are able to set custom parameters so that clients can get a ballpark number during that initial sales conversation.”  

This has been a powerful support tool to the Rooster Roofing sales team’s process. Jake gave an example, sharing, “We implemented Rapid Roof Calc a couple months ago and we've already gotten two closes from clients that we probably wouldn’t have gotten without that tool."
