Knowledge is Power: Learn the Legal Side of the Industry With Trent Cotney and John Kenney

The Law & Mortar podcast discusses all things legal related to roofing and construction. 

Cotney leaders, Trent Cotney and John Kenney, host a must-listen podcast series for any contractor wanting to understand the legal side of the roofing and construction industries. Every episode features a conversation about relevant industry issues and provides contractors with the knowledge they need to understand these legal issues that could affect their business.  

Recent episodes:  

  • Episode 19: John and Trent talk through new COVID-19 legal issues with regards to vaccinations, as well as their newly built training center located in their headquarters in Tampa Bay. They also discuss the Biden Administration’s changes to U.S. immigration policy and the benefits it will bring to the construction workforce.  

  • Episode 18: Learn what year-end procedures contractors should utilize, current subcontractor labor trends, and Cotney’s recent work in helping to bring green roofing to the industry from South Africa.  

  • Episode 16: John and Trent discuss material shortage issues and the COVID-19 vaccine in this podcast. They share potential legal issues that surround mandating the vaccine and discuss John Kenney’s new book that offers unparalleled information on everything a contractor needs to know to run a business in the construction and roofing industries.  

  • Episode 15: In this podcast, John and Trent analyze PPP loans and the additional taxes associated with them. They teach contractors how to navigate those taxes, as well as the importance of avoiding injuries during winter months. They also discuss the COVID-19 trends they are seeing across the U.S.  

Any contractor looking to get a leg up in their business must first understand the legal components operating within their industry. These podcasts are an excellent way for contractors to gain extra information that will guide them through the stages of owning a successful and continuously growing organization.
