For a roofing company, landing the contract for re-roofing an HOA community can be like winning the lottery. A big, long-term project with strong financial results.
What’s the secret to securing one of these attractive contracts? Offering easy-care, aesthetically pleasing composite roofing products. Class A fire and Class 4 impact resistant, there’s always a special “hook” that a roofer can use to convince an HOA that a product like DaVinci Roofscapes is perfect for their community.
For the Grand View project in fire-prone Jackson, Wyoming, the roofing team at 307 Imperial Roofing added DaVinci Multi-Width Shake in an Aged Cedar color blend to 20 HOA units.
“The overall reaction to the synthetic roofs was satisfaction and appreciation,” says Cruz Moreno, owner of 307 Imperial Roofing. “They like the look of the roofs and especially how they blend in with the overall appearance of their buildings. These roofs help the structures look clean.”
“We believe the DaVinci product gives the buildings an authentic appearance that really blends in well with the surrounding area while providing the all-important fire protection they need.”
While it may be peace-of-mind from fire that’s required in the West, in the southern states it’s protection from salt air, sea spray and hurricanes. In Broward County, Florida, residents of Chelsea III community needed the decaying shake roofs on their 76 units replaced.
“When we got up on the roofs, we saw insect damage, mold and evidence of rot,” says Jerry Lowenstein with North Star Contractors. “The old wood shakes also had algae growth and showed signs of splitting and cracking. Those shingles just didn’t have any life left in them.”
This is the third Chelsea community of townhomes re-roofed with DaVinci composite shake that resists splitting, algae and cracking. The company tackled 51 buildings at Chelsea I and then 24 buildings at Chelsea II. For 2-1/2 years the North Star team worked continuously on the project. In the end they installed more than a million square feet of DaVinci roofing tiles that are Miami-Dade county approved.
In Norman, Oklahoma it was easy for Blaze Gray to sell the Brookhaven Square HOA on using DaVinci synthetic roofing.
“These composite shakes provide much more than a beautiful, unified look in Brookhaven Square,” says Blaze, owner of Statewide Roofing in Oklahoma City. “They provide protection."
“We get some wicked storms in Oklahoma. The DaVinci synthetic shake roofs are Class 4 impact rated. They can stand up to 110 mph winds and severe weather. That’s really important for homeowners in this neighborhood, which is why we keep recommending DaVinci.”
Visit the Riva Ridge community in Libertyville, Illinois and you’ll find 325 townhomes covered with Select Shake roofing. It replaced the failed original cedar shakes when the community was just 16 years old.
“Right from the start we knew this was a multi-million dollar roofing job,” says Jack Chizek, president of the Riva Ridge Umbrella Association. “In considering the right contractor, we wanted to make sure we selected a company with the ability to get the job done in a timely basis. In addition, they needed to do the job in the best manner to get results done in the right way. You always hope they will meet your expectations, but you can never be certain.”
“With Shake Guys, they completely skyrocketed past our expectations! They blew me away with their results. Thanks to them, we have the best-looking and best-installed roofs in the area. While they made it look effortless, I know it wasn’t.”
“Our homeowners love their new roofs. The Select Shake profiles look much better than any real cedar shake could ever look. We’re all grateful for the longevity of the composite roofing and the peace of mind they’ll provide us with for years to come.”
