Deliver success with every project

Deliver success with every project

No matter the conditions, ABC Supply’s products and materials set you up for roofing success.

All contractors know that each new roofing project will bring unique challenges with it. Environmental factors like climate and regional hazards change what is needed for each roofing project. For example, a project in the desert might need to withstand frigid winter temperatures and scorching summer UV where a coastal project will be more likely to face challenges such as moisture intrusion and salt buildup.

These types of regional and environmental trends are something that ABC Supply, North America’s largest wholesale distributor of roofing supplies, has seen firsthand. In one article, they highlighted the differences between roofing needs in the Northwest and the Northeast:

  • Pacific Northwest: In this region, cedar shake is one of the traditionally used materials, and we can see its influence today in the popularity of dark charcoals and natural browns. Composite shingles are a very good option for the region as they offer the aesthetics that match the aesthetic trends while also delivering the durability needed to perform through the long and damp winter months.
  • Northeast: Alternatively, slate in this region has traditionally been seen in grays, blacks and blue-grays to match the region's traditional Colonial aesthetic. Further differentiating the Northeast’s regional needs from the Pacific Northwest is the climate. In the Northeast, winters are far more extreme, featuring cold, snowy and icy winters. Because of these factors, metal roofing, which is effective against ice/snow buildup and comes in a variety of clean aesthetics, has become very popular.

These regional observations are not hard and fast rules by any means, but they are great examples of the different factors contractors must consider when starting each roofing project. It can be a lot, which is why partnering with an experienced roofing supplier like ABC can be a big advantage. With ABC, you’re not only getting their team’s expert advice and help, but you are getting access to a nationwide network that will help you get the products and value needed to deliver success on every project.
