Data-driven remodeling with Eagleview

Data-driven remodeling with Eagleview

Learn how accurate measurements and 3D modeling help homeowners create their dream homes without moving.

Most people have the image of a dream home in their mind, maybe it has a garden with enough space for children or pets to play or maybe it has an extra room for your parents to spend the weekend. Whatever your ideal home looks like, it can be hard to find it for an affordable price, especially in places like the Greater London area where housing prices are rising.

That’s why Paul Chrysaphiades, owner of Domus Architects & Project Managers (Domus APM), suggests that homeowners create their dream space a different way – through remodeling. He explained, “We design to help people enhance their lifestyle choices. They like their neighbours, they like the schools and they like the locality, but the house isn’t quite right for them.”

These renovations are unique to each project, some might be a home extension where others might be refurbishments or loft conversions. But a common throughline for all of Paul and the Domus APM team’s projects are the need for comprehensive data about the original building. That’s where Eagleview comes in.

Eagleview reports offer a more cost-effective and efficient data collection option for Domus APM than traditional surveys. Further, for hard-to-reach or damaged areas of a home such as a loft, Eagleview reports are the safer option, as they keep workers out of possibly dangerous areas.

Paul shared a bit about how his team uses Eagleview reports:

We take certain dimensions internally, but the ideal situation, and that’s what Eagleview provide, is the external dimensions, which give us accurate information on the roof pitch, the size of the hips and the ridge beams, and the things we can never really properly assess. It’s been an absolute godsend for us to have that kind of data available because it helps substantiate and verify what we’re doing during our survey.

With the aid of these accurate reports, the Domus APM team has been able to create three-dimensional models that allow them to create more accurate remodeling plans. At the endof the day, Eagleview has improved their operations and made it easier for homeowners to create their dream spaces.
