Wil-Mar Products’ Pipe Collar Sets New Industry Standard

A roofing contractor's problem-solving prowess sparked the creation of the game-changing Wil-Mar Products Pipe Collar. 

Sometimes, the best roofing products come from roofing contractors tackling specific problems. That's exactly what happened with Wil-Mar Products, Inc., when Bill Merrin, a roofing contractor, found a way to seal vent pipes without using mastic and tape.  

The Wil-Mar Products Pipe Collar was developed by Bill using a special EPDM rubber compound that meets ASTM D-2000 standards for high-low temperature, oil, ozone and sunlight resistance. And perform it does!

Heather Malone of ABC Supply in San Jose carries the product said her contractors are very pleased with the performance of the pipe collar. “From what I’ve heard from our contractors, this is a very good product,” Malone said. “Other brands crack and deteriorate but we haven’t seen that with the Wil-Mar pipe collars.” 

Guillermo Cervantes of GC Fasteners agrees. “We are a specialty fastener shop, so we cater to a lot of interesting projects,” explained Cervantes. “A couple of our customers have roofing companies with solar divisions and the demand for the Wil-Mar Pipe Collar came from the solar side of the business. Other companies would see them in our showroom and give them a try. They absolutely love them.”
