Why Joining an Association is Invaluable to Your Success

WSRCA Member Benefits
January 26, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.

By Cass Jacoby.

The Western States Roofing Contractors Association (WSRCA) welcomes all contractors in the Western region to join them in enhancing the roofing industry.

As a contractor, deciding to join an association will be one of the most important decisions for your company. Joining the WSRCA will help you gain knowledge of the industry you are working in, which is invaluable to the success of your business.

Watch this video that is filled with insights from CEO of Interstate Roofing Scotte Riopell, CEO of McPartlon Roofing Hillary McPartlon, president of National Roofing Company Jackson Johns and JBS Roofing’s Valorie Miller on why becoming a member of the WSRA Western States Roofing Contractors Association (WSRCA) has been invaluable to their business. You will not want to miss out on these testimonials that prove just how invaluable being part of an association is.

“Hands down, the resources [are why you should be a member],” says Valorie. “The connections that you make, it's hard to quantify that and those are really important. But the resources that you get, that seems to be why everybody joins to begin with. And then the connections that they make, that's what keeps people renewing year after year after year.”

The WRSCA started out as a resource for technical information and installation best practices to help contractors grow their business, and continues to be the premier reason why contractors are drawn to the association.

“The tech docs that come out are not just useful for somebody in an administrative company, supervisory level, but all the way down to the person in the field and they're readable,” says Hillary. “We were able to get technical advice that saved us many thousands of dollars. Actually saved a lot of money in a lot of different installs just through technical bulletins."

Staying on the pulse of best practices drives the industry forward. Any owner of a company knows the value that comes with staying at the cutting edge of best practices, changes in codes, safety regulations and more. “Western States has really helped me become a safety orientated company. Never having to make the phone call to help prevent that. Not that it's going to stop it, but it's going to help minimize and prevent,” agrees Scott. “The Toolbox Talks that are on our websites, the things that I was able to take from there and move forward.”

Associations are not only a great way to gain skills and knowledge, but they are a fantastic way to grow your network and engage with your community. Getting more involved within your industry is how we build powerful connections and share pivotal information that will help you reach your goals.

“We as professionals in this industry need every ally and friend we can get,” says Jackson. “And finding people who are in the same industry but in a different non-overlapping market can be absolutely critical to future success in the business. The WSRCA is very much the blue rising tide that lifts all boats.”
