Why Duro-Last X™ is X-tremely X-citing

Duro-Last DLX Video
September 17, 2021 at 6:00 a.m.

By Cass Jacoby, RCS Reporter.

Introducing the new, custom-cut, 10’ roll good system that offers many custom- fabrication advantages, including proven labor and waste efficiencies.

Core to how Duro-Last® innovates and creates products is making materials that fix problems and offer solutions for roofers. Now, this particular product line answers questions that contractors have been asking for years — solving labor issues, rooftop decision-making, reducing scrap and T- patches.

Duro-Last X (DLX) is completely unique in the commercial roofing industry, aligning with the Duro-Last custom manufacturing approach of solutions that make installations faster and better for their contractors.

DLX, at its heart, is a custom solution to rooftop challenges in a roll good, offering true customization options for roofers that prefer working with roll good products. 10’ rolls exist everywhere in commercial roofing and are typically sold in standard rolls that are 100 feet long, so Duro-Last set out to solve the roll good waste challenge by offering a 10-foot roll good that is custom-cut to length -- a first for commercial roofing!

DLX is made out of the Duro-Last flagship membrane, meaning that it shares the same proven formulation. DLX is available in the standard roll widths of 10’ and 30’, 5’ and 10’, with thickness of 50, 60 and 80 mils.

The main difference between DLX and standard roll good systems is the custom-cut lengths. With DLX, you can have the length cut up to 200’ for 50 and 60 mil membranes, and 130’ for 80 mil. That means on certain applications you could take one roll from ridge to edge without having to restart a new roll.

DLX gives contractors the ability to cover up to two thousand square feet in one roll. You can cover a 200’ x 180’ roof deck with 18 rolls with zero vertical seaming. This means DLX can deliver an easier installation with less scrap, no leftover roll ends and less end-to-end welds, saving you labor, time and t-patches on the roof.
