Turn fast-moving roofing leads into real conversations

A CRM-first artificial intelligence workflow can help roofing companies respond to Google Ad leads while keeping people in the driver’s seat.

Google Local Services Ads leads come from homeowners actively looking for help, making response time an important part of the sales process.

When roofing professionals are driving, estimating or working on a roof, an artificial intelligence phone agent can handle the first time-sensitive conversation without replacing the sales team.

Enter RoofClaw, a Roofing Business Partner system. According to this article, the proposed workflow uses OpenClaw to detect new Local Services Ads leads through the Google Ads application programming interface. Before a call is placed, the system creates or updates the appropriate contact, property and deal records in HubSpot. This CRM-first order keeps the conversation connected to the sales process even if another part of the workflow fails.

Twilio provides the phone number, webhooks and carrier layer. OpenClaw Voice Call manages the agent workflow, while a cascaded voice stack can use Grok speech-to-text, a large language model and text-to-speech technology to conduct the conversation. Afterward, the call summary, outcome and next step are logged in the CRM.

While RoofClaw is a powerful tool for roofers, guardrails are still necessary for success. It is recommended that the voice agent confirms the caller’s personal information such as name, phone number, property address as well as pertinent details about the job such as service need and urgency. RoofClaw also advises against the agent quoting prices, exact timesline or making insurance and warranty commitments.

Roofing companies should begin with a dedicated Twilio test number and confirm that inbound calls, outbound calls, voicemail, hangups, escalation and CRM logging work correctly. The first live phase should be limited to new leads during business hours, with one initial call attempt and human review of the first 10 conversations.

The open-source RoofClaw Local Service Ad Agent repository provides a starting point, including Twilio onboarding inspired by the Patter project.
