The Rise of Silicone Roof Restorations

EVERROOF Silicone Roof Restorations
July 7, 2022 at 9:00 a.m.

By Evelyn Witterholt, RCS Reporter.

Learn all about the rise of silicone roofing products and how you can incorporate them into your business.

As pricey as re-roofing projects can get, especially on large buildings, many building owners are opting for a roof coating instead. With the increase in roof coating projects, the silicone roofing product industry has grown tremendously as well due to its high-performing qualities and cost-effectiveness. Recently, the VP of sales at EVERROOF, Will Lorenz, spoke with us about the rise of silicone roof restorations and how contractors can benefit from offering them to clients.

Will attributes the growth of the silicone roofing product market to the material’s durability. The high-quality silicone polymers, along with the minimal upkeep after, make it a very appealing product, especially to building owners. Once a roof is coated with silicone, it’s immediately waterproof and can be maintained for up to 20 years.

“With the disruptions that have been going on in the last two years, people are looking to keep their roof functional,” Will says. “When you have a membrane roof or an old BUR roof, and there's not new materials available to tear off and start over, the silicone restoration is a solid roof system that you can put on quite easy.”

Silicone is also an incredibly accessible and versatile product. Any size contracting company has the ability to coat a roof with silicone regardless of how sophisticated their equipment is. And contractors can ensure that the formulation of the silicone products they’re using, particularly those from EVERROOF, have been improved upon and researched regularly over the years.

A silicone roof system can also hold up well in different types of environments. It can withstand the icy elements of the northeast and the high humidity of coastal regions. “If a skilled contractor puts it down in the right conditions, preparing the substrate, doing the quality job, the roofs will perform,” Will says.
