It might come as a shock, but the summer season is heading towards its close! Here at The Coffee Shops™, we will miss the warm weather but couldn't be more excited for the Fall 2025 lineup of trade shows and conferences! One such event is the 2025 Midwest Roofing Contractors Association (MRCA)’s Conference and Expo, which will be held from October 20–22 in Schaumburg, Illinois. To learn more about MRCA and the conference, Megan Ellsworth hosted MRCA President Laurie Moore, MRCA Vice President Bill Seibert and MRCA Managing Director Rachel Pinkus for an episode of Roofing Road Trips®.
The MRCA Conference and Expo is the Midwest roofing industry's biggest event of the year, bringing together commercial and residential contractors, consultants, suppliers and innovators from across the region. Bill shared some thoughts about MRCA’s goals with the conference, saying, “MRCA is known as the roofing contractor’s advocate and as such we're always doing everything we can to continue to improve the quality of the roofing contractors across this country in the Midwest. This conference is a part of that mission.”
A big part of the conference is the education sessions. Laurie explained, “At the conference we bring together people in the industry who have had similar experiences as you. And you all get to attend the conference and learning sessions and talk to each other about what you’re learning. It’s really a great learning experience You’re not just listening passively and then walking away to the next one; you’re having a conversation and talking about how these topics apply to your business.”
In addition to the can’t-miss education opportunities, the MRCA Conference and Expo is a huge opportunity for contactors to network and celebrate the industry we are all a part of. Rachel shared a bit of what can be expected this year in particular, saying, “On top of all of the specific education, we have lots of great networking opportunities. For example, we have the very popular Young Contractors Casino Night and this year the theme is going to be Raise the Roof Prohibition Edition. So everybody needs to bring their fanciest 20s era prohibition era attire for that.” There’s also a general casino night that raises money for the MRCA Foundation, a community service project for the Ronal McDonald House, a silent auction and a Topgolf outing!
Overall, if you are a contractor working in the Midwest region, this is the perfect opportunity to learn, network and grow with your roofing community.
Listen to the whole conversation with Laurie, Bill and Rachel to learn more about the MRCA! And register for the 2025 Conference and Expo in Schaumburg, Illinois from October 20–22 if you haven’t already!
