The benefits of on-site roll forming

AEP Span On Site Roll Forming
May 2, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.

By Anna Lockhart.

When working on long-length metal projects, having a roll former on-site can make a world of difference!

For metal contractors who are often working with long-length panels on a roofing or siding project or are looking to maximize their flexibility on the job, having roll forming equipment on-site can make a significant difference in capabilities and results their crews can achieve.

On-site roll forming allows metal professionals the freedom to make specialized panels as they go, creating any desired length or shape metal panels on the spot. Opting for this choice rather than relying on a stationary machine off site in a metal shop can open up a wealth of additional benefits as well. With time being of the essence when putting labor crews up on a roof, making the most of that time is critical. On-site roll forming machinery can eliminate not only time spent unloading and unpacking transported panels, but it also saves the contractor money by eliminating the costs of transporting and packing those panels.

For the commercial contractor who is reliant on using long-length metal panels on their roofing or siding projects, having a quality roll former at the jobsite is an ideal solution. By being able to create long, continuous lengths of metal panels with no lapping, contractors can start installing the material as soon as it runs through the machine. With machines like the AEP Span Span-Lok hp, the resulting panels are excellently crafted with a weathertight and sleek design that gives any project a modern, clean look.

The Span-Lok hp is designed to offer users the most high-quality results possible, providing users with the ability to make the most of their on-site material management, reducing time and cost that would have otherwise been wasted on transporting and packaging off-site crafted materials.
