Tuck NovaFlash

By Cayden Wemple.

NovaFlash® from Tuck Tape® is a versatile tape that's got your roofing project covered.

Every contractor needs a go-to tape for their projects, and Tuck Tape from Nova Flash is a great candidate.

This unique tape can be used as a waterproof flashing membrane to seal window and door openings and is recommended to be used on aluminum, wood, wood clad, fiberglass, vinyl windows and doors. In addition to being used on those materials, the tape is also recommended to be used on most house wraps, OSB, exterior gypsum and fiber board.

Tuck Tape® NovaFlash® meets all AAMA 711-13 requirements of Type A, Level 3, providing exceptional performance in high temperatures of up to 80°C/176°F. Its high shear adhesive ensures excellent initial tack to surfaces while also being puncture resistant. The tape's features, such as a split release liner and its ability to seal around fasteners and nails make for a fast and efficient installation process. Furthermore, its water, moisture and mold-resistant properties make it an ideal choice for preventing air infiltration and offering excellent resistance to UV.

The NovaFlash® can be installed in four easy steps:

Step 1: Apply flashing tape below the windowsill and create a tight seal by folding the tape over the opening and cutting flaps on each corner to fold onto the sill.

Step 2: To protect the bottom corners, cut two bow tie pieces of NovaFlash, fold them in half, and apply one side to the bottom corner of the windowsill and the other on the exterior face of the wall, allowing at least two inches of overlap.

Step 3: Apply a long strip of tape onto the sill in a shingle fashion, exceeding six inches on each side, and fold the tape onto the exterior face of the wall.

Step 4: Apply vertical strips of NovaFlash onto each side jamb at full height, folding at least two inches onto the exterior face of the wall.
