By Lauren White, RCS Reporter.

Seamless, energy-saving, low labor, and environmentally friendly, spray foam makes roofing simpler.

Low-slope roofing just got easier with Ultra Thane HFO spray foam system from General Coatings Manufacturing Corp. (GCMC).  For 25 years they have been developing first-rate roofing products intended for commercial, residential, and industrial use.  “Our spray foam products are manufactured with an emphasis on quality, ease of use and durability ensuring they will perform over the years no matter what the environmental challenges,” GCMC states.

Ultra Thane roof systems provide contractors with next-generation HFO technology, best in class foam yield, superior adhesion, and can be installed in any US climate zone. The polyurethane foam is field applied using a high-pressure spray rig that bonds and contours to the existing roof surface. Ultra Thane spray foam is then protected with UV reflective topcoat to lower solar absorption and act as a tough wear surface. Coated Foam Roof Systems are an ideal recover technology for installation
over existing cap sheet, plywood/OSB, metal, concrete, ISO board, tar, and gravel roof substrates.

Their video shows how the “spray foam system creates a monolithic, fully adhered and self-flashed roof system, which outperforms conventional systems at a competitive cost.”  Spray foam expands and seals cracks, fills holes, flashes terminations and bonds seams on the existing roof. Since spray foam is a seamless, field applied membrane, “there is less chance for rain enter into the structure as there are no traditional welds, joints, or seams to fail.  It is a solid continuous barrier that protects your roof from the elements,” GCMC explains.

The primary benefits to using GCMC Ultra Thane spray foam are renewable waterproofing, low labor to install and provides enhanced insulation performance. Spray foam acts a monolithic thermal break, insulating buildings against air movement water intrusion, and reduces moisture drive. Ultra Thane roof system meets IBC / IRBC building codes for commercial and residential buildings, including fire, wind uplift, and energy-efficiency.  GCMC reveals, “Numerous studies have shown that the ROI [return on investment] on spray foam can happen in as little as five years or less in energy cost reduction.”  Ultra Thane is environmentally friendly using next generation
Honeywell Solstice HFO Blowing agent which has low GWP performance. “Spray foam is an eco-friendly alternative to other traditional roofing materials as usually doesn’t require a tear-off of an existing roof to renew its waterproof state.” GCMC shares.

Low-slope roofs are difficult to insulate and protect, which is why GCMC wants to help make roofing simpler.  “We manufacture Ultra Thane spray foam roofing to help building owners get affordable, durable, energy-saving, waterproofing.” GCMC notes.
