Owens Corning announces 2027 Shingle Color of the Year

Owens Corning Roofing celebrates 10 years of color leadership with the introduction of Summer Harvest as the 2027 Shingle Color of the Year.

Owens Corning Roofing is introducing Summer Harvest as its 2027 Shingle Color of the Year, the latest selection in a program that has highlighted the power of color in home design for the past decade. Inspired by the beauty of late summer as it gently transitions into autumn, Summer Harvest brings together sunny gold hues, burnt sienna, touches of Atlantic blue and desert tan tones. The result is a rich, nuanced blend that brings a fresh expression to a wide range of architectural styles, from craftsman cottages and mid-century modern homes to stately colonials. Summer Harvest captures a rustic sense of beauty and abundance while inviting homeowners to harvest the moments that make a house feel like home.

Expanding on a legacy of color leadership

Summer Harvest was selected by Owens Corning's in-house color experts as the 2027 Shingle Color of the Year. Each year, the team analyzes emerging influences across home design, fashion, interiors and broader color trends to identify shades that have the potential to resonate with homeowners for years to come.

The result is Summer Harvest, a rich blend of warm, nature-inspired tones that reflects growing consumer interest in colors that feel authentic, inviting and timeless. As the 2027 Shingle Color of the Year, Summer Harvest continues Owens Corning's decade-long tradition of helping homeowners explore the role color can play in shaping a home's overall character and curb appeal.

Inspiring style statements

Color inspiration extends beyond a portfolio of beautiful shingle colors. Owens Corning offers a suite of color and design tools that help homeowners visualize roofing, paint, trim and other exterior elements together for a coordinated look.

“Although located at a home’s highest level, the roof is a foundational element when it comes to creating a cohesive exterior design,” said Jess Bell, marketing manager at Owens Corning. “Our online color and design tools help homeowners and contractors visualize how roofing and exterior elements work together to create a distinctive style statement that stands the test of time.”

The 2027 Shingle Color of the Year is also capturing the attention of one of America’s most recognized voices in home design. Owens Corning is continuing its partnership with designer, author and television personality Erin Napier, who featured online videos that encourage homeowners to think differently about the role a roof plays in their home’s overall design. “We are proud to collaborate with Erin to offer homeowners expert design insights that help them find their perfect roof color,” said Bell.

Beyond beauty, trusted to perform and protect

While Summer Harvest makes a distinctive design statement, it is backed by the same trusted performance homeowners expect from Owens Corning Roofing. Like all shingles in the TruDefinition® Duration® portfolio, Summer Harvest features patented SureNail® Technology for advanced performance and durability and is also available in the Duration FLEX® shingle line.

The portfolio's combination of beautiful color options and trusted protection has helped Owens Corning earn the Women's Choice Award® for nine consecutive years, recognizing the roofing brand women would highly recommend to family and friends.

Shingle color as a design element

Remarking on the company’s commitment to color leadership, Bell noted that interest in roof color has accelerated since the inaugural Shingle Color of the Year was introduced. "Homeowners are paying closer attention to how every exterior element contributes to the overall look and feel of their homes, and the roof plays an important role in that story," said Bell. "Summer Harvest reflects our commitment to offering colors that feel both current and enduring, helping homeowners create an exterior that is cohesive, personal and timeless."
