MuleHide expands self-adhering EPDM and Poly ISO insulation lineups

New sizes of White-on-Black SA EPDM membranes and flat Poly ISO panels streamline installation.

Low-slope roofing manufacturer MuleHide has expanded its offering of White-on-Black Self-Adhering (SA) EPDM and Poly ISO 1 flat insulation, adding new membrane and panel sizes that streamline installation.

White-on-Black SA EPDM is now available in compact 5’ x 40’ rolls. Lightweight and portable, they are ideal for use on high-rises, in tight urban spaces and on residential low-slope roofs. They combine the time-tested performance of EPDM, the energy efficiency of a reflective white roof and the dramatic labor savings of a self-adhering membrane.

Poly ISO 1 flat insulation is now available in longer 4’ x 12’ panels. Designed for use on large commercial roofing projects, they can boost crew productivity by up to 34% and reduce labor and materials costs compared to traditional 4’ x 8’ panels.

5’ x 40’ White-on-Black SA EPDM membrane rolls

Narrower, shorter and lighter than the usual 10-foot-wide rolls, the new White-on-Black SA EPDM rolls join the 5’ x 40’ rolls of black SA EPDM introduced last year. Designed for portability, they weigh approximately 80 pounds and fit in the back of a standard pick-up truck.

Like all MuleHide SA EPDM membranes, they install up to 80% faster compared to using traditional bonding adhesive and deliver industry-leading flexibility, weatherability and cold-temperature performance.

The reflective white surface keeps rooftop and interior temperatures lower, reducing utility costs and maximizing the efficiency of rooftop air-conditioning equipment.

4’ x 12’ Flat Poly ISO 1 insulation panels

At four feet longer than traditional Poly ISO boards, the new 4’ x 12’ panels give contractors a simpler, faster and more efficient option for large commercial roofing projects.

Fewer panels are required to complete a job. The fastener pattern is reduced on certain warranty-eligible mechanically attached systems. There are fewer seams to complete on mechanically attached systems. The result is a dramatic boost in crew productivity and lower labor and materials costs.

Like other MuleHide flat Poly ISO boards, the panels have a dark facer on one side and a light facer on the other, allowing contractors to manage flash-off times in fully adhered applications by adjusting surface temperature depending on weather conditions.

The 20 psi panels are available in thicknesses ranging from 1.5” to 3.5” to achieve desired R-values.
