Meet Shawnda Burgess – Answer Me This! Winner

One of our most popular giveaways is sponsored by Gibraltar Building Accessories as part of their ‘Construction Solutions’ campaign designed to supply feedback from contractors to help them continue to innovate. We think it’s popular because it is so easy to participate. Simply answer one simple question and you’ll be entered into a drawing for a prize. Our latest winner, Shawnda Burgess, is the project administrator at Kalkreuth Roofing & Sheet Metal, which is one of the top 10 roofing contractors in the country. We recently spoke with her about her experience in the roofing industry and her answer to our Answer Me This! question: What do you prefer, printed or digital catalogs? 

Since 1984, Kalkreuth has been a roofing contractor that customers know and trust to get the job done right. Shawnda is involved with the commercial projects in their Corporate Office assisting every step of the way. From ordering materials, to budget reviews, to closing out projects, Shawnda is there! 

“We strive to deliver exactly what the project requires, no matter the level of complexity,” Shawnda said. “Our customers rely on getting the best people, services and technology available, which is why we love to reach out and take advantage of RoofersCoffeeShop.” 

When answering our contest question, Shawnda says she prefers digital catalogs because they are a more sustainable and clutter-free option. “Catalogs were such a big part of my job when I first started,” she said. “When catalogs started going digital, it was so nice for me because I could still keep that same kind of information on the computer without having to swap out new volumes every year as they come out.” 

On top of her work with Kalkreuth, Shawnda is also a single mother of two and is the co-chair for the National Women in Roofing Council of West Virginia.
