Invest in the future of the industry!

FRSA Invest in the Future of the Industry

FRSA Foundation scholarships are a great way for you to make a difference and support the industry leaders of tomorrow.

The Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors Association (FRSA) was founded in 1922 to bring together contractors and other members of the industry to build community and standardize business practices. The association also works to inform the public about the crucial work of roofing professionals and encourage engagement and participation in the industry. The FRSA Educational and Research Foundation serves as the charitable arm of the association.

The Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1982. It works in a variety of ways to support the education of the industry. One of their biggest efforts comes from the scholarships that are awarded each year. The Foundation has awarded more than $370,000 over the years to support the next generation of professionals as they pursue the training and education needed to succeed!

Scholarships are focused on “FRSA members, employees and their families who plan to pursue post -secondary education in college or vocational programs on a full-time or part-time basis are eligible for the merit-based scholarships.” It is key to note that this is both for those attending an academic program and those heading to trade school! Scholarship awards will be announced in June 2024 at the annual FRSA Convention and in the June issue of Florida Roofing magazine. Recipients can use the funds for educational expenses including tuition and books.

Past recipient, Allie Brown, reached out to FRSA to share what the scholarship meant to her, saying, “The FRSA Educational and Research Foundation’s acceptance of all ages made it possible for me to attend Mary Baldwin College at 14 years old. The generosity and support of the FRSA Educational Foundation has helped me to grow in immeasurable ways as a student at Mary Baldwin College.”

FRSA is making it easy for you to support this amazing cause! Les Sims, this year’s FRSA President, has designated the Foundation as the organization’s charity of choice for 2023-2024! You can donate online and help Les and FRSA reach their goal of awarding $50,000 in scholarships this year to set up the next generation for success.

To donate by check or by phone, please call John Hellein at 800-767-3772 ext. 123.
