The Coffee Shops™ got to kick of their tradeshow season in January with the 2025 World of Concrete show! Hosted in Las Vegas, Nevada, the show was full of interesting information and great opportunities to connect with other professionals. As our team was exploring the tradeshow floor, they got the chance to stop by the Tremco booth and chat with Keegan Still.
Keegan is the category manager for Tremco’s ICF and framing category. While at the World of Concrete show he was focusing on showcasing their Nudura insulated concrete forms (ICF). Keegan started by going over the basics of what ICF is, “Insulated concrete form is a stay-in-place concrete form mark. So, essentially, you stack the forms in the wall, reinforce it with rebar and then pour concrete, which provides that strength and durability of the wall system. Here at Tremco, our ICF is called Nudura.”
There are a variety of the reasons that people choose to work with ICF. For one, it is a more sustainable building option. Many ICFs have a better thermal performance and overall make a building more energy efficient. They also generally produce less waste during installation, and what waste is produced can be recycled rather than sent to a landfill. The other big reason is that ICFs are more resilient in the face of natural disasters. Keegan explained, “ICF has been around for quite a while now. It's gaining a lot of traction now from disaster resilience. People are looking for products that they know can withstand those type of disasters and ICF provides that.”
One of the unique things about Nudura ICF is that it is a collaboration between Tremco Construction Products Group Companies. In other words, Nudura ICF is designed to be paired with waterproofing and weather resistant barrier products from Tremco, resulting in structures with next-level performance. Keegan elaborated, “The biggest thing with Nudura is that you can have complete wall assemblies from footing to roof with other Tremco products that are fully compatible, tested and warranted. So, it's really giving that peace of mind to the builder that they know that this is going to work and they know who to contact for additional help or questions or anything they might need.”
