Engaging engineering, fun facts and free food!

TRA Snow Engaging Engineering Podcast
February 15, 2024 at 9:00 a.m.

By Dani Sheehan.

With topics focusing on different types of snow retention, the processes for their correct installation and how modern systems use engineering to protect people and property, you won’t want to miss this free, educational seminar.

Are you a winter person who loves the snow and can’t wait to head to the mountains with your snowboard, or do you dread the cold and dream of warm sand between your toes until summer comes around again? Either way, if you live in an area like West Valley City, Utah, you can expect a healthy amount of snowfall each winter, and with that comes the need for properly installed snow retention systems. In a recent episode of Roofing Road Trips®, Heidi J. Ellsworth heads for Utah to meet Mindy Dahlquist from TRA Snow & Sun to learn about an exciting, free seminar focused on the different types of snow retention and their importance in protecting people and property from falling snow and ice.

Mindy tells us a little bit about the seminar that is coming up on March 20, 2024: “This is going to be our first ever educational seminar. And I don’t know that there is another one like this out there that’s going to be in-person live training. The day is focused on snow retention specifically, not around all the other types of attachments and things like that you can do.”

If you have trouble sitting still through a full day of lectures, don’t worry! Mindy shares, “The first part of the day is going to be fully educational. And then the second part after lunch we will get into the hands-on installation processes, and we’ve rented out a space at the AGC of Utah. They have a beautiful facility that was just built specifically for training purposes.”

To make this educational seminar even more enticing, TRA Snow & Sun is also providing free food during the event. They want to make sure they’re sharing the knowledge they have so the entire industry can benefit and share ideas. Registration is limited. Sign up soon and make accommodations so you don’t miss out!

Read the transcript or Listen to the podcast episode to walk through the day of learning and add a few interesting facts about the history and importance of snow retention to your toolkit.
