Crack Under Pressure? Not These Multi-purpose Caulks

Franklin Multi-Purpose Caulks

Choose the caulks and sealants that stand up to movement and won’t crack under the pressure.

Have you ever been called out for a leak, only to find that the problem is the sealant has cracked and is crumbling away? Unfortunately, this is something many roofing contractors run into during the course of their work.

According to Franklin International’s Darci Kunard, joint movement is one of the main culprits behind cracked caulks and sealants. This is why the company’s multi-purpose caulks and sealants are manufactured to be crack proof. “They are not full of fillers like other affordably priced caulks and are designed to handle joint movement of up to 25 percent, with other multi-purpose varieties able to support up to 50 percent movement,” she explained.

This is why so many contractors choose Titebond caulks and sealants for their exterior projects. One of their better-known sealants is Titebond WeatherMaster ULTIMATE MP Sealant which provides incredible adhesion to most common building materials and permanent flexibility. It can be extruded in extreme temperatures, remains permanently flexible with no shrinkage, adheres well to damp surfaces and provides a weather-tight seal against water, wind, dust and dirt.

The company recently updated its packaging to reflect the strength of the brand, the performance of the products and uses brighter colors and bold graphics to catch the eye and evoke a sense of strength and innovation. The brand’s tagline, “The Pro’s Advantage,” is now on every tube so contractors know they are making the right choice for their project.

“Titebond is a well-known – and well respected – brand within both the construction and woodworking industries,” said Mark Schroeder, vice president of marketing at Titebond. “In emphasizing the brand name and our commitment to serving the construction pro, we also underscore that our products are formulated to meet the highest performance requirements. That’s important to the pro as well as the skilled DIYer. Beyond that, we make it easy for customers to find the best adhesive for a given project.”
