Building stronger workflows in the off-season

Building stronger workflows in the off-season
January 26, 2026 at 12:30 p.m.

RCS Influencer Aaron Weinstein says optimizing your company workflows is critical for success.

Editor's note: The following is a transcript of a conversation between Aaron Weinstein of Terial. You can Read the transcript below, Listen to the interview or Watch the recording.

Jenny Yu: Hi, I'm Jenny Yu with RoofersCoffeeShop and I'm here with Aaron Weinstein of Terial. How are you today, Aaron?

Aaron Weinstein: Hey, Jenny. I'm doing great. Thanks for having me.

Jenny Yu: Awesome. Thank you for being with us. So our January 2026 influencer question is, how can roof roofing contractors use the off season to tighten operations and improve job site efficiency?

Aaron Weinstein: Absolutely. I think this is top of mind for almost all of our clients and a lot of the prospects and contractors who we speak we we speak to on a daily basis. The key thing that I always really try to promote is don't get overwhelmed.

I think there are you can boil the ocean as an owner and as a contractor and try to change everything all at once. That is not necessarily the best way to drive change in your organization. What I like to do is really have conversations with the field, your foreman, your technicians and the folks on your in your organization who are actually getting the work done on the front lines and understand exactly what their day-to-day is looking like and some of their pains.

I really like to get down to the nitty-gritty of how are you trying to accomplish your job every day and is there a problem in in your current workflow that we can help solve from the top level. So perhaps by buying software or maybe perhaps by reducing the number of weekly meetings.

Again, I like to really enforce here is you don't have to make all the changes at once. I think ensuring that your team has buy-in and that they understand why you might be making a change before you've made one is really critical. And one of the only ways to do that is to have a conversation early on with those people on the front line. We like to say that one kind of the the platform or the technology you use is only as effective as the field adoption.

One of the things that I really like to caution people on is try not to make a decision in isolation in terms of the technology. If you choose to adopt technology, which we are in favor of, but everyone has their own preferences, make sure that you've included those who would be using the power users of that technology in the conversations and that they can understand how their life will look different and more and be more positive with the technology in hand.

Jenny Yu: Awesome. Thank you so much. What a great response. Um, well, thank you so much.

Aaron Weinstein: Thanks, Jenny. Appreciate it.
