Big Change is on the Horizon for MetalForming Inc.

Heidi sits down with Geoff Stone and Stephen Gosk to celebrate 25 years of MetalForming LLC 

This year marks the 25th anniversary of MetalForming LLC. In conjunction with this celebration, a big announcement was made at METALCON — Stephen Gosk is the new CEO at MetalForming, and Geoff Stone, who founded the company, is retiring after 52 years of honing his craft. In Season 4, Episode 46 of Roofing Road Trips, Heidi asks both what lies ahead for the company at the MetalCoffeeShop sound stage. 

Already having familiarity operating inside technology-forward companies, Steve is a natural choice as the new CEO for MetalForming. Automated technology is in the very near future for the company. With automation becoming a relatively new concept for most professionals, many may not understand why companies are beginning to take advantage of it.  

“The problem that everyone's having with labor, with finding labor, keeping labor, finding qualified labor, has just become enormous,” Geoff explains. “We're seeing a lot of movement toward automation, and we are [currently] developing automation products with our European vendors. And even though I won't run that path anymore, Steve will [agree that] over the next five to 10 years, automation is going to be the entire story.” 

Automation in production is the practice of using computers or computer programs to replace human labor. The efficiency and reduced cost of embracing automation is an attractive prospect and benefit for many. 

MetalForming LLC has been long-time partners with others at the forefront of the technology revolution.  

“We’ve done it with European partners. Why European?” asks Geoff. “Because there simply is no better engineering in the world than you'll find in Germanic speaking countries of Austria, Switzerland and Germany.”
