5 Tips to Close More Sales

Technology can play a key role in helping you close more sales.

Most contractors want to close more sales and grow profit margins but it’s not always easy to find a way to do just that. Fortunately, there are software programs available to help you not only manage your business more efficiently but that can also help you close more sales.

Here are five techniques that can help you close more deals this year—and how software like AccuLynx can make implementing them easier:

Roofing sales tip #1: Make contact early

Once a prospect shows interest in your service, it is crucial for someone on your sales team to reach out as soon as possible. The earlier someone from your company contacts a prospective customer, the more likely they will have meaningful conversations that will end in a sale.

Having a standard process for qualifying leads and reaching out to prospective customers will help keep sales opportunities from falling through the cracks. One of AccuLynx’s newest features, the web to lead form, allows you to quickly contact those prospects who fill out a form on your website. By simply embedding a custom form on your website, leads will automatically transfer into AccuLynx once a visitor fills out the form. You won’t have to sort through submissions or transfer information from a different program. Instead, a salesperson can contact a lead more quickly and move them down the sales funnel.

Roofing sales tip #2: Follow up with your leads quickly

Taking too much time between your initial conversation with a prospective customer and following up might also affect your closing rate. By following up quicker and putting appointments, such as scheduling an estimate, on the calendar, you are more likely to close more deals. If your salespeople are taking too much time to follow up, you might be losing out on jobs to competitors or running into delays due to events in the homeowner’s life.

AccuLynx provides ways to help your salespeople stay on top of prospective customers and where they are in the sales cycle. In AccuLynx, each job and lead has an individual file, where everything from communication to important documents is stored and organized. You can track where in the sales pipeline a prospective customer is, provide notes on their situation, and set up tasks to remind yourself or your team to follow up on leads. You can even set up automatic emails and text messages to remind prospects of appointments that you’ve set up with them so that no information on either end slips through the cracks.

Roofing sales tip #3: Offer payment options

How you accept payment can make a difference as to whether you close a deal or not. If you just accept cash or checks, you limit yourself to those customers who have funds readily available in their bank account. These days, most consumers use credit cards, and not only that, they prefer to pay bills online. Thus, you will make your company attractive to more customers by offering multiple payment options.

AccuLynx makes accepting multiple payment options easy with AccuPay, a secure online payment processing system integrated straight into AccuLynx. This feature allows you to process credit cards, debit cards, and e-checks seamlessly over the phone, online, or in-person. AccuLynx users get automatic notifications once a payment is processed so that keeping track of your money is easy. AccuPay also syncs directly with QuickBooks, speeding up your accounting process and leaving less room for errors.

Roofing sales tip #4: Provide financing

Not many people have enough funds to cover a large roofing job up front, and even if they do, they may not want to spend it all at once. By offering financing to homeowners at the start of the sales process, you can help make jobs more affordable by having payments spread out over an extended period.

With AccuLynx, you can offer financing options right from the job estimate. AccuFi is AccuLynx’s 100% free financing feature that allows homeowners to choose from multiple competitive loan options to spread out their payments. With AccuFi, homeowners can apply for financing directly from the estimate, with no effect on their credit score.

Roofing sales tip #5: Invest in a CRM

There are many CRM systems out there, each with its own features and tools to help manage your business better. With AccuLynx, your business will run smoother and more efficiently from start to finish. Keep track of all your leads, schedule jobs, and more in one place without the need to use multiple programs. AccuLynx also provides reporting features to help track sales rep performance so you can easily see how your business is performing each quarter and adjust your sales strategy accordingly.
