3 Ways to Get More Roofing Leads

Looking to increase your roofing leads but not sure where to begin?

The road to success comes down to one simple word: Basics. Simply knowing the basics and doing them well is all it takes to construct a sturdy foundation for success. But what are the basics?

Prioritize these three basic methods essential to landing new roofing jobs.

1. Equip your crews the right way.

The right way to equip your crews starts with making sure they have the right tools, an impact that reaches every area of your roofing gig. Ensuring the use of proper tools maximizes job efficiency and worker productivity. Tool quality should also be considered, as higher quality tools can prevent property damage and help maintain a clean job site. When all the benefits of a properly equipped crew come together, the result is a successful roofing job and happy customers whose referrals could be your next roofing gig!

RB4000 Roofing Dump Trailer

The ultimate drivable, dumpable specialized container favored by hundreds of roofers eliminates the need to double- and triple-handle materials so you get the job done faster. Roofing companies have reported slashing clean-up time by as much as 80%.

RB2000 Compact Roofing Dump Trailer

The RB4000’s scrappy little brother lifts and carries like its larger counterpart, but it’s more compact, making it ideal for properties with tighter spaces, like city streets or small-town sidewalks. Like the RB4000, this container helps you cut back on property damage, keeping your customers happy during and after their roof replacement.

Stow-A-Brake

Setting up this ladder-rack-mounted brake is a one-man task, and so is cleanup! Whether you need to wrap windows or craft flashing, this roofing equipment lets you do the job with just one crew member, so you get jobs done faster.

2. Establish a system for getting online ratings & reviews.

About 91% of consumers say they trust an online recommendation as much as they would a referral from a friend or colleague, according to a 2018 survey from BrightLocal. What’s more, 89% of consumers read businesses' responses to online reviews. That means if you want to stay competitive in an industry like roofing you need to up your online review game.

If you don’t already have a system for requesting online reviews, now is the time to put one in place so you can start getting more roofing jobs. For example, when you send emails or electronic invoices, include links to your profile on review or rating sites, including Angie’s List, Yelp, and even Facebook. You can also enlist your project managers or other customer-facing employees to ask for in-person reviews at appropriate times, such as after a final walkthrough after a job’s been completed.

3. Get your name out there.

You can’t get more roofing jobs if clients don’t know who you are. Fortunately, you have plenty of options for getting your contracting company’s name front and center—and keeping it top of mind. Here are a few ideas:

  • Invest in logo graphics for roofing company vehicles and equipment, like the RB4000 and RB2000.

  • Consider Facebook advertising, which can be a cost-effective way to target very specific local markets.

  • Be active in your community through volunteer work or relevant sponsorships.

  • Invite your current and past customers to participate in your roofing company referral program.

  • Act consistently in all your marketing efforts—remember, sometimes businesses get lucky with a viral video, but for most of us success is built on effort focused on long-term goals consistently executed.

There is no one best way to get roofing jobs, but when you implement these ideas and other marketing tactics, you're sure to see a spike in leads. Keep a close watch on the Equipter blog and follow us on Facebook for more business tips and to join the conversation!
