2 Tile Services That Help Contractors Manage Supply Challenges

All Points Tile Services
July 14, 2022 at 9:00 a.m.

By Cass Jacoby, RCS Reporter.

How All Points is easing the strain of material supply shortages with tile identification and custom glazing.

In a recent episode of Roofing Road Trips, RCS President Heidi J. Ellsworth speaks with Jeff Littleton, the operations manager at All Points about their unique tile identification service and matching process and how it can help with the supply challenges roofers are experiencing.

All Points is famous for their tile identification service they offer customers. On their website, you can go to their tile identification option under Services and send them pictures of your roof. “If they are an experienced roofer and they know what they're looking for, they can go there and do a little bit of searching and they can find it. And it has the prices and everything, and even tells them what we have in stock at this time,” explains Jeff. “The other thing they can do is they can email us with pictures of their tile and then we can identify it and we'll email them back what's going on.”

Jeff says they also offer more mobile ways of conducting tile identification for when you are on the job, so you can quickly get all the information you need for an efficient job. “They can call us or get our cell phone number, then they can text us pictures of the tile as they do their roof inspection,” says Jeff. “In 10, 15, 20 minutes, depending on how busy we are, we'll look at them, we'll text them back saying, ‘Yes, we have it. This is what we have. This is what color we have. This is what the price is.’”

The key to delivering materials during a shortage lies in clear communication about inventory with customers. All Points Tile & Slate recognizes customers need the most up –to-date information in order to make a choice in roofing material, and an online platform or text is a convenient way to quickly and easily report on what and how much is available.

Jeff also talks about how their custom glazing service offers clients the ability to accurately match what a client may need, which helps ease the strain of supply chain issues. “We get these leftovers from new jobs and we put those together and we'll have customers call us and they'll be like ‘I need a roof and I need a roof right now.’ And we'll say, ‘Well, we can put you together a custom blend of these colors,’ and we'll show them a sample of it,” explains Jeff. “And a lot of times we can put a roof or provide them with the material for a roof within a couple of days.”

Listen to the entire podcast to learn more about how All Points Tile & Slate can help you provide superior tiles to your customers even with material shortages.
