The roofing industry is built on determination, teamwork and a commitment to supporting others, and those qualities were on full display during the 2026 Pushups for Heroes challenge.

Organized by Jacob Piazza, director of roofing and repair services at Nearmap, the initiative brought together roofing professionals from across the industry with a shared goal: Raise awareness and support for veterans while promoting health, accountability and community involvement. What began as an ambitious challenge to complete 25,000 pushups quickly grew into an industry-wide movement, ultimately resulting in an impressive 36,368 pushups and proving what can happen when roofing professionals unite behind a meaningful cause.

The final scoreboard for the challenge was topped by Greg Bloom of QXO, who recorded 6,575 pushups. He was followed by:

Steven James of James Roofing Services Inc. (5,000)

Brianna Stemple of Mission Metals MFG (4,409)

Brandon Cox of Owens Corning (3,100)

Jacob Piazza of Nearmap (3,098)

Tyler Allwood of Eagle Roofing Products (3,000)

Matt Criswell of Weather Shield Roofing (3,000)

Bo Copland of Hogtown Roofing and Construction (3,000)

Matt Lenord of Architectural Sheet Metal (2,641

John Campbell of Eagle Roofing Products (2,564).

Together, these industry professionals helped propel the challenge to a remarkable 36,368 total pushups, surpassing the original goal of 25,000 and demonstrating the impact that individual commitment can have when combined with a shared purpose. The momentum created by the challenge is expected to continue beyond 2026. Organizers are already discussing opportunities to gather feedback from participants, evaluate what worked well and identify ways to make the program even stronger in the future. Those conversations could help shape a larger and more impactful challenge in 2027.

Beyond the impressive numbers, Pushups for Heroes highlighted something many contractors understand well — success is built through consistency. Just as roofing professionals tackle projects one day at a time, challenge participants accumulated thousands of pushups through daily effort and determination. The result was a community-wide accomplishment that benefited a greater cause while encouraging healthy habits among participants.

Learn why underlayment plays a critical role in protecting roofs from moisture and extreme weather.

A roof is constantly exposed to harsh conditions, from intense sunlight and heavy rain to strong winds and snow loads. While roofing materials often receive the most attention, the performance and longevity of a roof system also depend on what lies beneath them. According to one article by Eagle Roofing Products, underlayment serves as a vital component that helps protect homes and support long-term roof performance.

One of the most important functions of underlayment is acting as a waterproofing barrier. Moisture can find its way into vulnerable areas, and without proper protection, leaks may develop that can lead to costly repairs and structural damage. Eagle Roofing Products offers underlayment solutions including Secure Guard 60, Eagle True 2-40 and Eagle Armor, which are designed to help repel water and keep interiors dry during a variety of weather conditions.

Underlayment also contributes to overall roof integrity. Positioned between the roofing material and the roof deck, it provides an additional layer of protection against punctures, abrasions and tears. This extra defense can help reduce the impact of foot traffic during installation, severe weather and falling debris. By protecting the roof system, underlayment can help extend service life while reducing maintenance needs.

In addition, some underlayment play a role in thermal regulation. By functioning as a thermal barrier, it can help manage temperature fluctuations inside the home. During warmer months, it helps reflect solar heat and may reduce demands on cooling systems. During colder periods, it provides an added layer that helps limit heat loss and maintain indoor comfort.

For homeowners, these benefits contribute to greater confidence in the long-term performance of their roof. Eagle Roofing Products emphasizes that underlayment should not be viewed as an afterthought but as an essential part of a resilient roofing system. From moisture protection and structural support to energy efficiency, underlayment provides critical benefits that help safeguard a home over time.

Eagle Anchor XFR helps builders and contractors address evolving fire requirements without sacrificing installation efficiency.

Wildfire exposure, stricter building codes and growing demand for resilient roofing assemblies are reshaping how contractors approach tile roof installations. To help address those challenges, Eagle Roofing Products developed Eagle Anchor XFR, a roofing underlayment that combines waterproofing and fire resistance in a single-layer system. Designed for concrete and clay tile applications, the product helps simplify installation while supporting compliance with demanding fire-performance requirements.

Eagle Anchor XFR is a mechanically fastened underlayment developed by Eagle Roofing Products in partnership with Polyglass®. Engineered for use beneath concrete and clay tiles, it eliminates the need for traditional multi-layer assemblies by delivering both water protection and fire resistance in one layer. This simplifies installation while reducing labor, material usage and overall system weight.

At the core of the product is a dual-compound construction: a durable plastomeric modified bitumen top layer paired with a self-sealing SBS-modified bottom layer. This design allows the membrane to tightly seal around fasteners, helping prevent water intrusion while maintaining long-term durability.

What truly sets Eagle Anchor XFR apart is its patented Burn Shield Technology®, which provides advanced resistance to wind-driven embers — one of the leading causes of roof ignition during wildfires. Combined with a fiberglass reinforcement layer, the system achieves a Class A fire rating and meets strict requirements for Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) zones, including CalFire compliance.

Beyond fire performance, the underlayment is built for real-world jobsite conditions. Its mineral-surfaced top layer improves slip resistance for safer installation, while its robust construction allows for up to 180 days of UV exposure before tile installation — offering flexibility in project scheduling.

Eagle Anchor XFR also delivers clear economic advantages. By replacing the need for separate underlayment and cap sheet systems, it reduces installation steps and material costs without sacrificing performance. The result is a more efficient, cost-effective roofing system that still meets the highest standards for protection.

In summary, Eagle Anchor XFR represents a smarter approach to tile roofing underlayment — combining fire resistance, water protection and installation efficiency into one integrated solution. For contractors and builders working in high-risk or code-driven environments, it offers a reliable way to simplify systems while enhancing overall roof performance.

Utilizing the staggered installation technique with flat concrete tile can bring texture and elegance to a home, upping curb appeal no matter the trend cycle.

Flat concrete roof tiles are an excellent roofing material choice for homeowners looking to protect their investments while also adding depth to a structure’s visual appearance. Especially for those interested in the design styles commonly known as “Old World” aesthetics, these tiles add modern protection to a long-standing architectural favorite design.

To achieve the French Country, English Cottage or Tudor style roof visuals, a staggered installation method is used to achieve the look and feel efficiently. Tiles are arranged to appear in a staggered pattern, adding texture to a roof where traditional favorites on the modern market tend to lay in flat, one-dimensional patterns in comparison. This way, an intricate, luxurious roof can be achieved with minimal expended effort and material waste.

With Eagle Roofing Products’ flat Bel Air or Tapered Slate concrete roof tile profiles, any home can be transformed from ordinary to outstanding (not to mention durable, efficient and cost effective). Offered in an array of colors, these tiles have the ability to capture the attention of any passerby with their European charm and feel.

Eagle’s dedication to providing customers with unparalleled customer service and material selections ensures homeowners will get the stunning roof of their dreams.

We had a great time sharing stories and photos over social media with our roofing community!

National Roofing Week is an annual event hosted by the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) that aims to raise awareness of the roofing professionals who keep our communities safe and secure. The event also acts as a way to build community with other professionals, both near you and across the country.

Participation in National Roofing Week is primarily conducted online by posting photos and videos through the #NationalRoofingWeek2026 hashtag. And NRCA has created themes for each day of National Roofing Week to guide posts.

Sunday – Kickoff

The week kicked off with posts about the importance of roofers. NRCA started everything with a post sharing the schedule for the week and some highlights from last year’s National Roofing Week! Here at The Coffee Shops™ we joined in the fun on all our social media pages, making sure to thank the coating installers, roofing professionals and contractors who make our community amazing.

Monday – Signature projects

For the Monday theme, NRCA invited National Roofing Week participants to share photos showcasing their company’s signature residential and commercial projects. There were too many amazing projects posted to put them all here, but some that stood out to us came from QXO, Sika and Eagle Roofing Products!

QXO’s post was a carousel of some of their customers projects, including one from Toitures Scott, one from Nedlaw Group and one from RUHS in California. Likewise, Eagle Roofing Products’ post showcased signature projects featuring their concrete roof tiles from across the country.

As for Sika, they took the opportunity to shine the spotlight on their 2025 Sika Project of the Year award winners, which includes stunning projects like the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center project in Los Angeles, California and the South Station Tower project in Boston.

Tuesday – Charitable projects

The next day of National Roofing Week was all about giving back, and the National Women in Roofing (NWIR) Oregon Council stole the show with a free roof!

The replacement went to a community member in need, which is an incredible reminder of the power our industry has to do good.

They put it best in their post:

Seeing contractors, manufacturers, distributors and industry partners come together with a shared purpose — without competition, without agendas, and focused solely on helping someone else — is truly inspiring. For one day, company names and logos took a back seat to teamwork, generosity and service.

Projects like this showcase the heart of our industry. The relationships we build, the willingness to lend a hand, and the collective impact we can make when we work together are some of the best parts of being in roofing.

NWIR extended huge thanks to industry partners, like Malarkey Roofing Products, ABC Supply, SRS Building Products, Owens Corning, Bliss Roofing and Raindrop Roofing NW, for making this incredible charitable project possible.

Wednesday – Employee appreciation

The midpoint of the week was all about the people who get things done – the employees that keep our industry moving. For this theme, the #NationalRoofingWeek2026 hashtag was flooded with pictures and appreciations for hardworking workers around the country.

Drexel Metals posted some behind-the-scenes of their team hard at work, captioning it, “To everyone who continues to show up ready to learn, teach and push the industry forward: thank you. Your commitment is what drives stronger partnerships, better projects and continued progress year after year.”

IKO Industries and CertainTeed also posted, shouting out the ROOFPROS who get the job done every day and recognizing the “craftsmanship, innovation, and dedication of the teams who help bring CertainTeed products and solutions to life” respectively.

Thursday – Training and learning

For Thursday, NRCA chose training as the theme, inviting contractors and companies to share the ways they keep learning and growing on the job. For this theme, GAF joined the party, sharing an incredible milestone from their GAF Roofing Academy – since 2020, the tuition-free program has helped more than 3,000 individuals find employment in the roofing industry!

And this is just one of the many stories added to the #NationalRoofingWeek2026 hashtag! The Durable Restoration Company posted about the hard work their craftspeople put into their apprenticeship program and QXO shared how they connect their team with everything from stand downs to plant tours.

Friday – Celebration

And you can’t have National Roofing Week without taking the time to celebrate the amazing industry we are all a part of!
Modern roofing adhesives offer a streamlined alternative to traditional fastening methods while maintaining code compliance.

As roofing contractors continue to prioritize speed, performance and compliance, manufacturers are advancing solutions that simplify installation without sacrificing durability. Eagle Roofing Products highlights this shift with systems like APOC’s Polyset® RTA-1, a high-performance adhesive engineered to replace or reduce traditional fastening methods while supporting long-term roof integrity. By minimizing penetrations and streamlining application, adhesives like these help crews meet tighter timelines and evolving code requirements.

Designed for steep-slope applications, Polyset® RTA-1 is a single-component polyurethane foam adhesive that bonds concrete and clay roof tiles to approved underlayments. Its versatility across new construction and repair projects makes it a practical option for contractors seeking consistent results across varying jobsite conditions. With roofing demands increasing in complexity, solutions that balance ease of use with proven performance are becoming essential tools in the field.

Speaking of its ease of use, this adhesive is designed for jobsite efficiency. Its controlled dispensing allows for precise bead application with minimal sputtering, helping contractors work faster and more cleanly.

Polyset® RTA-1 also contributes to a quieter, more stable roof system by preventing tile “chatter” — a common issue where loose tiles shift or rattle under wind pressure. By securely bonding each tile in place, the adhesive enhances both performance and homeowner comfort.

Approved for use under strict standards such as the Florida Building Code and Miami-Dade NOA, Polyset® RTA-1 meets rigorous performance requirements for high-wind regions — making it a trusted choice in demanding climates.

In summary, Polyset® RTA-1 combines strength, speed and simplicity in one solution. By reducing penetrations, improving installation efficiency and delivering dependable adhesion, it represents a smarter, more advanced approach to tile roof attachment — ideal for contractors and builders focused on long-term performance.
