Work smarter with instant grab technology

TITEBOND TITEGRAB PLUS CONSTRUCTION ADHESIVE
October 29, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.

A faster approach to vertical applications.

For roofing contractors, every minute on the jobsite matters. Whether you're installing trim, mounting materials on vertical surfaces or handling interior finish work connected to roofing projects, finding ways to reduce labor time while maintaining quality can make a significant difference. New adhesive technologies are helping contractors do exactly that by providing immediate holding power, reducing the need for extensive bracing and minimizing reliance on mechanical fasteners.

One example is TiteGrab Plus, a Franklin International product, which highlights how advanced polymer adhesives are designed to instantly grab and hold materials in place. Unlike traditional construction adhesives that may require extended support while curing, instant-grab formulations develop strength rapidly, helping crews move through installations more efficiently.

Why instant grab matters

Vertical applications can be some of the most challenging installations on a project. Materials often need temporary supports, fasteners or extended holding time before they remain securely in place. Instant-grab adhesives are engineered to address this issue by providing immediate tack and strength development, allowing many materials to stay positioned without extensive bracing. According to the product information, these adhesives can significantly reduce installation time while creating long-lasting bonds on both porous and non-porous materials. For contractors, that can translate into faster project completion, fewer installation steps and potentially lower labor requirements on select applications.

Applications across construction projects

While roofing systems themselves rely on specific attachment methods dictated by manufacturers and codes, instant-grab adhesive technology can support many complementary construction applications frequently encountered on commercial and residential projects. These applications may include:

  • Exterior trim installation
  • Cement board attachment
  • Vertical concrete applications
  • Foam board installation
  • Paneling and feature walls
  • Molding and trim work
  • Backsplashes and surrounds
  • Landscape and specialty construction projects

The versatility of advanced polymer adhesives allows them to bond a wide variety of materials while maintaining flexibility over time.

Performance features contractors should understand

When evaluating adhesive solutions, contractors should consider more than just initial grab strength. The product literature outlines several characteristics that contribute to overall performance, including:

  • Rapid strength development for immediate holding power
  • Repositionability for up to 10 minutes after application
  • Waterproof performance
  • Ultra-low VOC formulation
  • Resistance to freezing conditions during storage
  • Permanent flexibility with no shrinkage over time

These features can be especially valuable in environments where durability and long-term performance are critical considerations.

Proper application remains important

Even with advanced formulations, proper installation practices are essential. Surface preparation, bead placement and substrate weight all influence performance. According to the manufacturer, a minimum of 2.5 inches of adhesive is required for every pound of substrate when adhering materials to vertical surfaces. The adhesive should be applied evenly, and larger installations may still require temporary bracing depending on conditions and project requirements. Contractors should also pay close attention to manufacturer limitations, application temperatures and recommendations regarding mechanical fasteners, particularly for overhead installations.
