Where service leads the way

Where service leads the way

Industry leaders converge to spark a new era in roofing service — and the momentum is just getting started.

What began as a niche gathering has roared to life in the wake of a new era of service-minded industry professionals. ServiceCon 2025, held in Houston, marked a powerful revival of the service-first mindset in the roofing and contracting industries. Heidi J. Ellsworth met with Will Riley, CEO of Centerpoint Connect, to discuss how the conference brought together a packed house of contractors, thought leaders and service advocates all aiming to push the industry forward — not just in innovation, but in mindset.

“This isn’t really about Centerpoint,” Will said early on. “It’s all about service.” And that ethos ran deep throughout the event. From packed sessions to buzzing peer groups, the energy was unmistakable. Attendees scribbled notes, snapped photos and, most importantly, connected.

The driving idea behind ServiceCon’s reboot? Elevating the entire industry. Will, reflecting on why he chose to revive the event, said, “It’s this underlying desire to try to help raise the floor in the industry.” He expressed the power of service in creating lasting client relationships, noting how it’s reshaped business trajectories by focusing on retention over replacement.

The conference didn’t just highlight best practices — it offered a path forward. “Start small,” Will advised those just entering service. “You don’t have to have it all figured out. Just get some small wins.”

Speakers like Cody Klein and Greg Tracy delivered hard-hitting takeaways. From when to add a second service truck to the overlooked value of reconnecting with past repair customers, practical strategies took center stage. A standout moment came when attendees were challenged to not just grow their business — but to take care of themselves.

While the in-person energy was undeniable, the impact won’t end in Houston. Sessions were recorded and will be made available, a nod to the growing demand for accessible learning across the trades.

With over 126 attendees and rooms overflowing, ServiceCon 2025 proved there’s an appetite for smarter, more sustainable growth in service. And by all indications, this isn’t a one-time reboot — it’s the start of a movement.
