Webrunner Media’s targeted digital strategy helps a remodeling contractor capture more high-value leads. 

Even the most skilled remodeling contractors can struggle to translate their reputation into consistent online lead generation. Webrunner Media recently partnered with Home Remodeling Pros of Central PA to address that exact challenge, helping the company align their high-end craftsmanship with a stronger digital presence built for growth. 

Known for delivering complex renovations and upscale home transformations, the contractor had established credibility in the field but faced limitations in how potential customers discovered them online. Despite operating across a broad service area, their website was not effectively capturing search demand from homeowners actively seeking remodeling services. 

To compete in a crowded digital landscape, the company needed more than a basic online presence. They required a strategic approach that could elevate search visibility, expand reach beyond branded queries and position their services in front of high-intent prospects at the exact moment they begin planning a project. 

The challenge: The “Page 2 Graveyard” and branded-only traffic 

In April 2024, Home Remodeling Pros of Central PA had a functional website, but it was essentially a digital business card rather than a lead-generation engine. The data revealed several critical hurdles: 

  • Brand dependency: Nearly 85% of their visibility came from people searching for their specific company name. They were essentially invisible to the broader market. 
  • Buried beyond page 1: High-intent terms like “kitchen remodeling contractors near me” were indexed but buried on pages 3 through 10 of Google. 
  • Limited geo-reach: Despite serving all of Central Pennsylvania, their search presence was stagnant in key surrounding cities like Mechanicsburg. 
  • Non-branded invisibility: With only 50 non-branded keywords in the top 100, they were missing out on the vast majority of local remodeling intent. 

The solution: Building a “non-branded” authority engine 

Webrunner executed a 16-month targeted SEO strategy designed to pull those hidden rankings out of the graveyard and onto Page 1. 

The strategy focused on three core pillars: 

1 - Intent-aligned content & AI discoverability 

To capture traffic with commercial intent, we overhauled how the site speaks to both users and search engines. 

  • High-intent refinement: We rebuilt service pages with localized keywords and intent-aligned copy, ensuring keywords now target clear commercial or transactional intent. 
  • FAQ integration: We added structured AI-ready info-boxes and FAQs to improve discoverability in AI-driven search results. 
  • Informational gaps: We used blog content to answer top-of-funnel questions about timelines and planning, funneling that traffic into core service pages. 

2 - Local SEO refinement 

To break out of their immediate headquarters, we expanded the site’s local footprint. 

  • Geo-targeted service pages: We created dedicated landing pages for key Central Pennsylvania cities, allowing the brand to rank for “Bathroom renovation [city name]” terms. 
  • GBP optimization: We optimized their Google Business Profile to win in the Local Map Pack, focusing on NAP (name, address, phone) consistency and high-quality photo optimization. 

3 - Authority & technical strength 

We cleaned up the technical noise that was holding their site back. 

  • Crawlability fixes: We resolved duplicate URL errors and navigation issues that were confusing search engines. 
  • Niche-specific backlinks: Instead of generic links, we acquired niche edits and regional directory placements that signaled local authority to Google. 

Transformative results: 124% growth in targeted monthly organic traffic 

By focusing on non-branded keyword growth and Page 1 dominance, the results between April 2024 and August 2025 were staggering: 

1 - Lift in non-branded keywords 

The most significant shift was the brand’s ability to attract new customers who weren’t previously familiar with them. 

  • Non-branded keywords Increased from 50 to 423+ (746% growth
  • Visibility shift: Branded vs. non-branded visibility moved from a lopsided majority to a healthy 50/50 split. 

2 - Lift in top 10 rankings 

We successfully pushed high-value keywords out of the “Page 2-5” range and into the spotlight. 

  • Top 10 rankings increased from 12 to 32 (167% growth
  • Top 3 rankings increased from 8 to 14 (75% growth
  • Page 1 wins: The site now dominates for competitive terms like “kitchen remodeling contractors near me” and “home improvement companies in Mechanicsburg.” 

3 - Traffic velocity 

All traffic growth was achieved organically, creating a sustainable lead flow without having to ramp up spend on other channels like PPC. 

  • Monthly organic visits grew from 292 to 654 (124% increase
  • Engagement: Bounce rates dropped as users began engaging with multiple service pages per session. 

Beyond the numbers 

The operational shift for Home Remodeling Pros is clear: they’re no longer just attracting people who already know about them. They’re now reaching new prospects: 

  • Regional authority: By ranking in surrounding cities like Mechanicsburg, the brand has effectively expanded its brand awareness and reach. 
  • Commercial domination: With 67% of keywords holding commercial intent, the traffic hitting the site is high value. These are homeowners ready to buy, not just tire kickers looking for DIY tips. 
  • Futureproofing: By optimizing for AI discoverability (AEO/GEO/LLMs), their site is prepared for the next era of search. 

Conclusion: Dominating Central Pennsylvania 

By moving away from a branded-only search strategy and fixing the technical hurdles that kept them on Page 5, Home Remodeling Pros of Central PA has fundamentally changed its growth trajectory. 

They’ve achieved a 746% surge in non-branded keywords and a 124% increase in targeted, high-intent traffic, all without having to rely on PPC spend. Today, they don’t just have a website; they have a regional authority engine that captures high intent leads the moment they start dreaming of an improved home. For Home Remodeling Pros, the “Page 2 graveyard” is a thing of the past.
