The Third Estimate is the August R-Club Roofer of the Month!

Learn how The Third Estimate has scaled their company through their prioritization of people and proactive care.  

Every month we highlight one of the amazing contractors who is a part of our R-Club program as our Roofer of the Month, and for August that's The Third Estimate in Solon, Ohio! To learn more about how this company takes roofing and customer care to the next level, Alex Tolle sat down with their CEO, Tara Colopy for a quick podcast.  

The Third Estimate was founded back in 1996 by Tara’s husband and she took over as CEO about four years ago. The company specializes in roofing, but also provides siding, windows, gutters and other home renovation services to their customers. This expansion of services has led to an increase in growth and recognition for the company, as Tara put it, “We really started focusing heavy on customer service and building our brand in these last four years. And it's really sprung our platform forward. We're a brand that's now recognized not only locally but throughout the state of Ohio and now on a national level.” 

As they have grown, Tara has been dedicated to making sure The Third Estimate doesn’t lose track of what has built their success – the people. When it comes to the people on the internal team, Tara spoke a bit about celebrating and uplifting them, sharing, “We have a lot of female leadership, about 90% of our leadership. And we really try to celebrate that. Personally, I try to lift these women up who aren't used to running businesses in a man's world. And I can't tell you the depth of the strength I get to see every day in my staff. It’s amazing.” 

As for the people on the other side, their customers, The Third Estimate lives and breathes by the mission of treating customers as the first priority. Tara elaborated, “It's about anticipating needs, not just delivering what they ask for. I preach about being proactive with problem solving and being clear in your communication. If you're having verbal communication, follow up in writing with that customer, build that relationship because that’s what builds loyalty with our customers and has helped us grow.”
