The Key to Sales is Transparency

Kate Ratcliffe talks about how giving your sales reps tools that help build trust with homeowners is the key to successfully making sales and magnifying our business.  

In a new Roofing Road Trips episode, Heidi J. Ellsworth visits with Kate Ratcliffe, marketing manager for Leap.  The two ladies talk about their shared passion for sales, marketing and technology, and why it is so important to put the right tools into the hands of sales professionals.   

Kate Ratcliffe has worked with Leap for just over a year now and is passionate about seeing Leap’s software being used to help contractors grow and magnify their business.  

Kate explains that the old way of making a sales call is no longer the best way to win a sale. “It's antiquated. We all know that. It is ingrained in every sales culture,” says Kate. “We're going to go to the house, whether it was an appointment or not or if it's just door knocking, and you're going to bring a bunch of documents and papers. You're going to do a sales pitch that's not customized. It's just what you usually do...Now, it's worked obviously, but can it be better? I believe very much that every process can be better.” 

Leap was developed to be a solution to the old sales call, a perfected and evolved way to make a sale in the 21st century. “Leap is an iOS-based software. It's an app that allows you to run your entire sales process from the iPad or from your phone,” Kate says, explaining how Leap works and makes life easier for salespeople. “Any process can be better, and that's what Leap does.” 

Kate explains that part of what makes Leap’s software so effective is the transparency that the app offers, and how this helps build trust between the contractor and the homeowner. By having access to all the data you need as a salesperson, but even more importantly, that your customers need to make these decisions, projects move much faster with better communication.  

“It's so quick. It's also transparent. That's the part that I think a lot of people are missing," says Kate. “It's something that creates this bond between the salesperson and the homeowner. It's letting them know we value you enough to tell you the absolute truth here.”
