Seeing is Believing When it Comes to This Shingle

TAMKO Titan XT Shingle Construction
October 24, 2022 at 9:00 a.m.

By Cass Jacoby.

Titan XT is the high-performing shingle that you just have to experience yourself to believe.

In this Roofing Road Trips episode, Kim Eckerman and Melissa Dunson of TAMKO tell Heidi J. Ellsworth about how they have been working to get the Titan XT shingle in the hands of contactors across the country.

“You can see the adoption within the industry of getting excited about these products, welcoming them with open arms, especially once they get their hands on Titan and they realize how well the product performs,” says Kim.

The Titan XT shingle is TAMKO’s most advanced shingle. It’s equipped with AnchorLock™ Layer technology, which anchors nails while the shingle is installed on the roof. The AnchorLock™ Layer not only gives the shingle an additional layer of protection and reinforcement, but also contributes to it having TAMKO’s highest wind warranty with coverage up to 160 mph.

“When contractors feel it in their hands, they're like, ‘This is a really good shingle,’” says Melissa. “As soon as we started putting in contractors' hands, some of the responses we were getting was like, ‘This is the best shingle that I've ever grabbed a hold of.’”

As contractors and homeowners both continue to choose stronger, higher performing products that can withstand the increasingly extreme weather we are experiencing, Titan XT only becomes a more attractive shingle option. “[The industry wants] products that are more resilient, products that are designed to perform in more extreme weather conditions. And so we've seen the entire industry move toward that,” says Melissa. “And this shingle really is sort of a response to that. We always say its extreme technology is designed to help weather-extreme conditions — that's how we describe Titan XT.”

It is often love at first sight when a contractor experiences the high performance of Titan XT. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, be it how well the shingle cuts even though it is really tough, or the beautiful array of colors. Contractors who are always looking for the best product to put on their roofs know at once that Titan XT is what they are looking for.

The level of performance that this shingle offers is something that contractors have to see to believe. "It is so important for [contractors] to get their hands on this and see it for themselves,” says Kim. “We can say it, our contractors are saying it, but we want you to experience it. We want you to see the difference.”
